1st time in, just got 2 beef Fajita tacos and they are probably the best in the area. I will be back to try more options.

Tamales weren't my favorite. My husband loved his tacos. My chicken tacos would of been better if they marinated the chicken, because it was a bit dry.

What an awesome gem hidden in the depths of Durant. This restaurant could easily use the title "Authentic Mexican Food" and no one could dispute it. It takes an honest level of authenticity to do so and they really own it. I was blown away with the Lengua tacos. I will say that my supreme burrito, although it was big and tasty, had just a tad more beans and rice ratio to the pastor's meat. No big deal, the reasonable prices justified the ratio difference I guess. I would prefer to pay 1.5 or 2 dollars more but have a bit more meat ratio difference from the rice and beansThe salsas were amazing especially the green salsa. The bathrooms were acceptably clean. The walkway feels dark and being the only bathroom Unisex makes it a challenge for the female customers because Male customers pee all over the toilet seat. The dining room ceiling needs some attention. The entire decoration around the walls, the tables, the floors look great but the ceilings are killing the atmosphere. The service was great. There is no waitress service; which is fine. There was a guy going around cleaning tables and removing empty plates, that was good.Thank you for the great experience tasting your food! Sure to be back!

This is my favorite place in Durant to grab tacos. The torta and their burritos are also super delicious! Highly recommend.

Great food. Fast service. Place is a tad small so when busy it's hard to get a seat but totally worth it ?

This is the best food in probably at least a 100 mile radius. It's actually incredible. There's another restaurant in Durant called El Kanelo that comes in at a very close 2nd. I don't know what Durant did to deserve these two restaurants. Someone likely made a deal with the devil. That's ok with me, I get to reap the benefits without having to seek out a deal with a crossroads demon myself. I have been to plenty of Mexican restaurants all over the country (well.. actually all over the Americas.. because I've eaten Mexican food in several Central American countries as well...) and I swear this is actual real top-notch stuff. Yes, I am claiming to be an experienced consumer of Mexican food lol. The best thing on the menu imo is the pork plate. "Peurco en salsa verde o roja" - you don't get to choose between red or green sauce, you get whatever they have that day, but it doesn't matter, they're both equally delicious. The bistec ranchero is also very very good, probably my 2nd favorite. Don't be afraid to try some al pastor or barbacoa tacos though!! Also incredible! Taqueria style. The rice and beans are pretty standard (good, but standard), but they just absolutely kill it on the meat and the salsas. They have (what I'm pretty sure is) REAL barbacoa, not brisket dressed up to seem like barbacoa like most restaurants. They also have LENGUA! They also have chicharron (though I have not actually tried that one yet). The salsas are so so good. Make sure to get both the shiny green and the orange salsa on the side. The other reviewer that claimed there's habanero at the tables, I'm not certain but I am pretty sure they're wrong, I believe the orange salsa is tomatillo + chile de arbol (or similar). It's pretty spicy but it's so so so good. This place is more "fast casual" (order and pay at the register then wait with a number) and the dining room is pretty small, so no big birthday dinner, though I have had a lunch here with a couple families with children successfully. This place is better suited for smaller groups and takeout. On that topic, it's a GREAT choice for takeout and service is quick so usually no real need to order ahead. If you're looking for more of a "sit down" feel (wait staff, fountain drinks), go visit el kanelo on the other side of town, but do yourself a favor and make sure you come back another time to try this place. If I had to pick something to complain about, I'd say things can be a tiiiiny bit inconsistent from visit to visit, like the recipes can vary, but like... I think you're allowed to be inconsistent when you're wavering between a 9 and a 14 out of 10 lol. Side note: if you're planning on spending some time at the lost street brewery across town, I highly recommend stopping here first and taking your food to lost street with you. One more tip!! If you get a burrito (which I highly recommend if you're a burrito person) order double meat. It's not that there's not enough meat... there is enough meat... I just think the ratios are juuuust right if you do double meat, and it's not too expensive.
