The restaurant is very well designed, beautiful atmosphere. The staff is friendly and greeted us immediately. The asked for our drink orders, gave us our alcoholic drinks, never brought water or asked if we wanted anything else. We then opened the menus to find salsa all over one of the menus. We then ordered an appetizer and the agave Azul nachos with ground beef. There was absolutely no flavor to the food. No salt, no seasoning at all. Again, friendly staff, nice atmosphere, better food at other places.

I was excited to try Agave Azul after seeing good reviews, but was very disappointed. The food didn't have much flavor at all. The salsa tasted like I was just eating tomato paste. I did ask for a spicer salsa and that was better when I mixed it in with their regular salsa. I ordered the Tamales Mexicanos for my entree. The pork tamale was ok but the chicken didn't taste seasoned at all and the beef one was so bad, I couldn't even eat it. The server was the only good thing about the restaurant. He came and checked on us several times and refilled our drinks without us asking. I really wanted to like this place since it's right down the street from my neighborhood, but will definitely not be returning.

My husband and I have been wanting to try this place since it opened. We eat Mexican a lot! My husband was not pleased with the burrito and like Ted's better. I like the rice. However, the chimichanga did not taste deep fried and there wasn't enough cheese. We did feel like we were being rushed and it wasn't even that busy. The place was decorated well and clean though. Chips were greasy but the salsa was amazing!
