Not good! Came today on 3-20-24 Had ordered food to go. Got back to work no salad or soup, which I specifically asked for. The food was not good, seems like the quality of the steak has went down! Use to enjoy eating here! Now yall have lost a good customer. Will not be BACK!!!

Wow. Who would have thought a restaurant this nice would be in Midwest city. The hibachi is fantastic, the food is the highest quality, and we have had the owner do our hibachi several times. Cannot complain about anything. We've only gotten hibachi, so I cannot comment on the rest of the food options, but I assume they put just as much attention to detail in other options as they do their hibachi!

If you get Hibachi, it's 5 stars all around. If you eat at the normal tables, the service isn't quite as good. Love the food there, one of my favorite places in the metro.

My wife and I have been ordering take-out from Meiji every Saturday night for nearly a year. Up until a couple of months ago the food was on point. I always order the same thing, 2 Spicy Miso Ramens and my wife gets 3 sushi rolls. The problem is lack of consistency. Nearly half of the time our orders are either completely wrong or incomplete. Sometimes salads come with rolls, sometimes they don't. Sometimes the salad is a spring mix, sometimes it's iceburg. This time both of my spicy miso ramen were missing the chashu. I know this is a 1st world problem and in the grand scheme of things incorrect take-out is not a big deal but I LOVE THIS PLACE! I love their ramen. We only eat out once a week. I really look forward to it. I spend at least $100 every Saturday here. I'm just tired of being disappointed. I'm not going to call for a discount or coupon or anything. I don't care about that. I just want the food I ordered to be correct and consistent.

Frozen fish disguised as sushi, spent $70 on dog food, Ichiban is the best.

Ordered sushi takeout from here and it was some of the most vile food I've ever had the displeasure of trying to eat. The tuna roll that was just a roll filled with tuna, none of the other things it was supposed it have and my eel roll had no sauce on it, but luckily my other roll that wasn't supposed to have sauce had eel sauce so I guess I can't complain too much. Not to mention, I was lacking two of the items thatbi paid for. Everything was lukewarm at best and overall, it was a horrible experience. 2/10 would never recommend to my worst enemy.

We came for our daughter's birthday and had a great time. She loves the show and he put on a great performance for her. Food was good, I thought it needed some extra flavor.

I was incredibly disappointed in my hibachi filet and lobster meal. The lobster was tough, and the fillet was cut in such small strips instead of a cube so they could not cook it medium rare as I replied when asked. I don't even know why they asked me how I wanted my steak cooked because there's no way you could cook something that small any other way but medium well. For $48 it was very disappointing. The rice was very good. The soup was tasteless. The server never offered me the ice cream at the end and though she was very nice her service was extremely slow for a Wednesday at 5 with no other tables. I don't think I'll be back. Shoguns has been absolutely consistent for 4 decades. Their filet is perfect bite sized med-rare cubes of melt in your mouth delight. Which is what a Filet Mignon should be.

Was told they don't serve hibachi for just one person since when do you not serve a paying customer?

I’m writing a review only because I have serious concerns over cleanliness and spoiled food and didn’t know how else to contact someone. My family and I went to eat here yesterday. The sushi tongs are generally kept in a water bin that has free flowing water but it looked like it wasn’t filtering right and there were chunks of food floating in the water. Most of the rest of the food we ate was decent but the mandarin oranges tasted like they were carbonated. That is something that happens when food ferments meaning they were bad. Today when I burp after eating them, it smells like eggs and my stomach hurts some. Most everything else was good, but I have concerns over people getting sick from the sushi and mandarin oranges.
