The location and atmosphere of this place is fantastic. It sits right on the lake and has a very classy and relaxed atmosphere. The staff are very nice and welcoming. The quality of the food needs some help. Their menu is pretty small and the food resembles something that you would get from a bar. I'm not sure anything is made from scratch. It appears to be pre packaged and/or frozen ingredients. With a little help in the kitchen this place could be fantastic.

We went to an event on Wednesday evening and expected a delay in service but 2 hours for a pizza is over the top bad service. When we called to see where the order was they said it had been sitting behind them and was supposed to be delivered. We had to leave our venue and go pick up our food that was cold and hard. It was sitting behind the server for 30 minutes. No text messages telling us it was ready or any communication at all. For the atmosphere and cost, you would expect better.

We were here during spring break. Didn't seem busy sat immediately with a noon arrival. The place is nice and comfortable. The food was excellent. Smash Burger was better than most and the Nashville hot chicken was the best I've had anywhere not to hot but tasty and hung over the

I've had a weekend House at Grand Lake for the last 15 years. First time to go to Docs bar and Grill for dinner. Sorry, I was disappointed. They were not that crowded, Service was not great and food was ok. I will not be going back...we had a party of six And none of us were impressed.

The breakfast buffetwas very low quality. I've never seen some of the items on a breakfast buffet. Spaghetti?!! Leftovers?! I don't recommend. service was good.

Breakfast buffet was strangely loud - not a pleasant Sunday morning environment. Server was overwhelmed just for drinks at a buffet. Buffet had very limited choices and some odd choices - simmered shrimp & okra, beef tips, etc Odd for a southern brunch buffet

Not a good night for Doc's. The hostess did not say a word to us. She seated us but never said a word. Then, we sat at the table for 15 minutes and not one person came to take our order. So, we got up and informed the bartender we were leaving to dine at a different place where we can get service. This was a Tuesday night and the place was not crowed. Very disappointing.

We were very disappointed in our first trip to Doc's. Our server was very friendly, but that was the only positive. My husband ordered the redfish tchoputula for $29. It not much food at all.... One small piece of fish with the corn topping, served on a small plate. My daughter ordered a Caesar salad and was served soggy, oily lettuce. It didn't look anything like Caesar dressing. I ordered the chopped salad which was also served with dressing already mixed in and very soggy lettuce. It also wasn't much salad for $15. Our fourth guest ordered the pizza, which was tiny and looked like a microwave pizza. Once we ordered we never saw our server again. The hostess finally came to clear our dishes; it took 20 more minutes after her having to clear our plates to get our ticket. All in all, it was a one-time visit for us. Over $100 bill for mediocre food and service.

Table was ready for our party of 7 and the efficient hostess accomodated an extension on our arrival time; the buffet food was okay but a little pricey (I did like to see beef ribs on the line but they were a bit over cooked)- Our expectations were perhaps higher than was delivered because it was after all Shangri-la.

We come here often and it has usually been pretty good. On our visit tonight it looked like they had revamped. I got the chopped salad and wasn’t super impressed, but my son got the pizza and it was great. He got the larger one and it was huge. My husband got the nachos and gave them five stars. Kids menu is the same as most places and my daughter enjoyed her chicken fingers. New highlight was the dessert menu! We got the molten chocolate lava cake to share and it was delicious. The only thing I really didn’t like here is the water. Everyone in our family thought it had a distinct after taste and even the soft drinks have a different taste to me. Other than that we all highly recommend while you’re at Shangri La!

Docs has a great brunch with a good selection of brunch cocktails. Lots of regulars so it's sometimes hard to get in, but if you can, you won't be disappointed.

Service is very slow. On our 3rd day we had a server who was incredibly rude. My 6 yr old dropped his $11 single chocolate chip pancake on the floor once it was recieved. We asked the server to bring us a new one and she seemed upset and didn't respond, a few minutes later she left our table and we weren't sure if she heard our request. 5 minutes later she inconsiderately wedged herself underneath my chair while I was eating, all without explanation as to what was going on. She then, without asking , moved my son and his chair towards the window and picked up the pancake with her hands. She walked it back to the kitchen awkwardly with both hands underneath. I got up to follow her bc I was unsure about what was happening here! She holds the pancake up to her cook and the staff and starts swearing and yelling about my son accidently dropping it. This swearing (using the F- word) and outburst happened 2 more times. We got the manager, paid the bill and got the heck out of there! (Woman was older and blond, we were there on Wednesday morning Aug 9th).

Unfortunately we had an awful experience at Doc's Bar and Grill which was surprising. We brought friends to Doc's to celebrate a birthday lunch, but we regret the choice. We waited forever for our food as those who came in after us ate and left. When we questioned the waitress on why it was taking so long she said it was because they use fresh foods and it takes a long time to prepare. When our food finally arrived the sandwiches were hard and dry on top, and wet and mushy on the bottom. If you make a mistake on an order admit it, most people will understand. Don't use a lame excuse and serve undesirable food. You can do better Doc's.
