We stop in one morning will visiting my mother, and the food was great, each plate had hot, fresh food which tasted great, the coffee was really good as well. The German fried potatos are just like my mom used to make. The French toast is super tasty, as my son put it. And the country gravy delicious too.

They have good food but, every time you go there or call in an order, they tell you, it's going to be a while, is that ok? Most of the time, there's not even one or two tables seated. We have finally just quit trying to eat there. I always tell them no brown gravy, and they would always usually put it anyway.

Mel's Diner is one of the only restaurant options on the south side of Muskogee. It's charming, country, cute inside. They do a half diner/half pizza parlor kind of vibe that is very cute. Tonight was my first time trying it, and I regret not going sooner. They offered a super affordable steak dinner Valentine's special that was a great idea. My salad was little and very simple, but the ranch is definitely homemade and delicious. My steak was perfect, so that alone was worth the price and experience, but with a few little details added, Mel's could be easily a 5 star spot. I think if they offered a "loaded" baked potato with sour cream, chives, cheese, that would make it just a touch more decadent. Don't serve cake directly from the cooler, so it's not dried out. Just little things like that would definitely add to the experience. Lately, they post often about hiring too, and it was evident they could use some help. It was busy causing the limited servers to run around and forget things. But our server was super nice. I will definitely be back to give the pizza a try soon, and the breakfast menu looks awesome also! I'm still always so grateful to small businesses like Mel's for keeping Muskogee fed!

Small diner with excellent food. They only had one waitress on duty when we were there. Everyone had quite a long wait for service and there were no check-ins.

67 years old and this was the slowest service I've ever had! Maybe change the name to, At a Snails Pace?

We stopped in for breakfast due to the Amish restaurant being closed. We aren’t from OK, so wasn’t sure where to go other than looking on google. This was a bad experience, which to us was weird as we are from a state (IN) that takes pride in their standards at diners. My order was not right, even though the waitress used a tablet to take our order, which just showed she wasn’t listening to me. Instead of making it right, she brought me half of what I ordered. The waitress also never refilled my cup of coffee, yet she did for my son and husband, twice. She didn’t even acknowledge me after I pointed out that my order wasn’t right.I am the type of person to tip very well, especially at small diners. However, I am a firm believer that you get what you earn!! I did not leave a tip, should have been nice to everyone at the table.

What I ate was good..but was hoping for more healthy options..my husband toast came out with lots of butter on it..we did not order butter on it..would like to see turkey bacon and sausage options..like some other places in town..so we can keep cholesterol levels in check as we age..but it's a must try for people who don't have to worry about that.
