I ordered the alligator bites, seafood pasta, and mixed grill. The seafood pasta was made with Angel hair pasta and just tasted like ramen noodles with cheese. I couldn't eat more than a few bites of that but the waitress saw this and offered to take it off and get me a different meal to go. I chose the mixed grill. The steak and lobster on this was superb! I loved the atmosphere and on the night I went there was a live jazz band. I've been several times and will definitely go back.

After looking at their menu online, I was excited to go and was really looking forward to my dinner.Should I start with the good or the bad?Let's go good first:Bourbon Street Cafe is very festive and has a great location right on the canal. There are lots of place to go and things to do in the immediate area. I really enjoyed their patio, especially on a perfect night to be sitting outside. They did a pretty good job of creating a New Orleans feel.I was seated immediately, and they had a pretty good draft beer selection. It wasn't extensive, but they had good choices. Now, the not so good:Although the waitress was fairly quick to take my order, it took a pretty long time to get my beer.I ordered a side Caesar salad as an appetizer and the Satchmo's, which is their blackened salmon topped with a crab sauce on top of mashed potatoes and a side of asparagus (well that's what the menu says).Even though I specifically asked for the salad to come out before the dinner, they brought it with my meal, which took longer than it should have.Instead of the asparagus side, they had given me the mixed vegetables. I mentioned it to the waitress, and she did bring me a side of asparagus.I'm glad I asked for the asparagus, because it was the highlight of the meal. It was cooked to perfection with just a slight amount of crispness. The flavor was really good as well.Ok, now we have to get to the rest of the meal. The salmon was way over cooked which made it very dry. Luckily it did have the crab sauce which was ok. The potatoes were also really dry, and didn't have much flavor. Mashed potatoes are incredibly easy. All you really have to do is add garlic, butter, salt and pepper for good basic mashed potatoes. They seemed to have forgotten every one of those accept for the salt. LolThe steamed vegetables were cooked right, but they were kind of cold, and like the potatoes, missing flavor. Now, to be fair, this may have been an off night; however, I can only critique what I experienced. One day I may give them another shot even though I'm GUESSING they are getting by on their location and atmosphere.

First time here today with my fiance to celebrate our 2 year anniversary, and this definitely was a great choice,my spouse ordered the mixed grill and I ordered the satchmo, They were both absolutely delicious for a great price, I do wish the portions were a little bigger. The appetizer we ordered was a crab cake and boy for $17 I was expecting 3 or more crab cakes not just one it was a tease for sure but very delicious. We also ordered two perfect margaritas and they were delicious and strong. For dessert I ordered a cheesecake and it definitely had an interesting taste and texture but wasn't awful. I certainly will be back though. 7/10

Stopped here mid afternoon had the place to myself for the most part. Atmosphere is great, staff is personable & no wait time really considering the time of day. I ordered an old fashion (which was ok id say a 7/10). For food I did the salmon, spinach & mac n cheese. The salmon & spinach was great but the mac n cheese definitely was bland & I personally am not a fan of bread crumbs on mac n cheese I didn't even eat it after first bite. I highly recommend the boudin balls it came with a marinara kind of sauce on the plate that definitely was a great pairing. I'd go back to keep exploring the menu. I'm sure it's a great place during the weekend nights. The location is great also in the downtown walking area with other bars, restaurants & scenic views available. In walking distance to downtown hotels

The food was ok. We ordered the mixed grill - the steak was more like a sirloin cut in half. It definitely did not melt in the mouth. 4 pieces of asparagus... ?. Lobster and shrimp were cooked beautifully, and the mashed potatoes were room temperature and dry. For $38 I expected an actual filet and my meal to be hot. The server/ bar back was annoyed by our presence, which didn't make for a welcoming environment. This was our first experience and will probably be our last. Wonderful band, really made our experience more enjoyable.

New Orleans vibes, honey. The atmosphere has a very southern feel. The drinks were delicious (unfortunately, we weren't able to get anything frozen) the food will not disappoint. It was seasoned well and cooked through. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. We had the option to eat outside, and I chose inside. However, the vibes outside was nice. 90 degrees, and you over looking a man made river. Definitely family oriented, its lower level but there are stairs so I'm not sure if it's wheelchair accessible. Overall I'd say try it out.

Came for a special occasion. It was a perfect evening to sit out by the water. The boats were busy, and it was neat to watch all the activity while eating. The food was excellent ?.Parking: Don't expect to park for free! All the lots in the area cost $20, but had no time limit
