We had been here in years past and it was amazing. This year (2016) they changed the menu and the burgers are cheap, small, and 11.50 for a small fries and coke meal. Nowhere near the quality we had gotten before. Sad. Won't be back

Disregard reviews from before 2016 everything has changed. Used to offer hamburgers and fries like you see in all the pictures they are now selling Dairy Queen quality burgers and fries and it's more expensive. Cheeseburger is ~$7 and is about 1 cm thick. Fries have also changed they now have thick cut fries and only give you half a handful for ~$2.50. If you're expecting Nic's go to Nic's this place is no longer worth the money or the wait.

Nic's Burgers/Ice House is my sweet place for fresh burgers and fries. No lie. I love this place. I also ordered the Root Beer float, and it reminded me of being a kid. So good! I could tell the burger was fresh made, not a frozen patty from a foodservice vendor. The fries were also fresh. Most of all, I appreciated the attentive staff who answer all my questions, confirmed my order and delivered a great lunch. I also love the whole patio dining feel of this place. and the water feature was super awesome because it was a hot afternoon in Oct. The whole ambiance rocks. Next time I'm in OKC, Nic's the place for me to get a fresh, great burger.

I did not have a good experience this evening (10-24-2015). I went to the Ice House @ 5:35 PM. I will give one star to the staff. They were super nice and friendly. My wife has a gluten allergy and they went out of their way to make sure the order for her was made correctly and contained no gluten. Now, here is why I took away the other 4 stars. I have been to the restaurant many times before and I always remember the food being great. Except for tonight. I usually do not get to watch them prep the food before I get my order because usually you all are swamped. Tonight was not the case. They had signs saying that they were closing at 6PM tonight (I might note that this was not posted on Facebook like their website stated would happen in the event of an change in hours). They told me that after 3PM they had been dead. I was the third or fourth order since that time. Well, I thought they had the fries and burgers in a holding area after they are made fresh. No. Once I got home, I released that the food had been sitting there for a while. It was not fresh. The burger was dry and the fries were tough. I could also tell the grilled onions and jalapeños were old bevause they were shriveled up. I spent over $20 and I would have gotten cheaper, better, faster (my order took over 15 minutes to prepare), and fresher food at the McDonald's near my house. This is not the Ice House that I used to love.

The food here was actually pretty good but the place was seriously understaffed this weekend. People around me were complaining that it took 20 mins for them to just get a root beer float. I thought the burger was great and loved the caramelized onions on top. Fries were crispy and not too salty and the vanilla milkshake was perfect for the hot summer weather. This is a great place for lunch, especially if you have children who love splash pads, but they need to hire more help!

My wife and I took our two kids here while in OKC for a week. It was just ok. The ordering line was extremely slow and it took nearly 25 minutes for our meal. We went here to experience a Nic burger but should have went to the original - don't expect the burgers to look like the pictures of burgers of a Nic's burger or you will be disappointed like me - will not go back.

At midday during a Wednesday conference, I happened upon The Ice House. The menu was very easy to understand. This is very important to this indecisive person. I ordered a hamburger, no mayo, no ketchup, grill the onions extra, and cut it in half. This came with fries and a drink for $8.95 (I think). For $2.50 more, I substituted a vanilla milkshake. The order arrived in a fair amount of time, but I arrived before the rush. I received the burger whole, and reminded them that I wanted it cut. She told me there were knives outside. I thought that was a little rude, but it was fine. They did not grill my onions extra. That was a disappointment. After that, though, it's all uphill. The burger was juicy with lots of onions. I liked that the romaine lettuce was chopped. The fries were just the right amount of crispy. The piece de resistance, though, was the vanilla milkshake. It was everything a real shake should be: creamy, not too thick, flavorful with vanilla bean. Mmmmm. The two suggestions I would make for improvement is friendlier staff and flash-grill the burgers to give it that seared texture and flavor. My personal preference would be to caramelize the onions to a deeper color. I'll be back.

A sunny Wednesday afternoon in June and a quick lunch at the Ice House. I waited for my food amid the screams of little children playing on the black granite of the water fountain in the warm afternoon. I ordered the Nics cheeseburger meal. The fries were thin peppery matchsticks that cooled quickly in the afternoon breeze. They were golden brown but the spicy seasoning blocked the deliciousness that eluded my waiting taste buds.Too bad. The burger deserved more. The patty was soft, juicy and beefy. The bun was a higher quality example of a plain bun that stood up and supported the quality of the beef. Between the two were fresh lettuce pickles and tomato. Clinging to the underside of the bun was a slice of bland American cheese; not so low quality as to insult the rest of the burger but unimpressive in flavor. The caramelized onions suited the sandwich well. Pale brown they kept enough integrity to not let you forget that they were once raw but soft enough to chew easily. Another example of a good burger but poor fries, I will likely not eat here again soon but worth the grab if your in the park, hungry and don't want fries with that.

Possibly the best burger in OKC! Cooked to perfection, great topping and warm toasted bun! Great staff and nice seating outside on a cool Oklahoma afternoon! My go to burger place for sure!!

Ate there today after looking on Yelp for somewhere to try. It was awesome!!! No waiting and the food was ready fast. Fries were great, burger was amazing. Definitely will eat there again.

I walked to Nics from the Skirvon Hilton on a business trip. The outdoor patio is lovely and the burgers anazing. I highly recommend this spot.

Hit up Ice House for a burger after the Elite Event at Park House. I've not been to Nic's, and I've read more than one review that states Ice House isn't Nic's. My dining companion confirmed that Ice House burgers, while operated by Nic, are not as good as Nic's. So, I wasn't expecting burgers as good as I hear Nic's is serving up. That being said, I had an above average burger and was not disappointed. I went with the cheeseburger, adding jalapenos and bacon. I got some sriracha ranch on the side, which the woman taking our order heartily endorsed. The burger is large, and covered in toppings. A couple of issues with it. First, the onions weren't cooked down long enough. I don't know if this is because it was the end of the night, but the onions needed to be thinner. They had good flavor, but a mound of onions this big on the burger made it difficult to eat. Additionally, the lettuce was romaine. While I like romaine, I think it's a poor choice for a burger, the ribs acted as another barrier to the burger staying together. So, I was less than halfway through the thing and it was demolished. No way to finish without a fork. Those are the problems, but there was a lot right about this burger. The meat was thick and juicy, and not overcooked. Despite this, there was a nice crust on the exterior of the meat. You get plenty of cheese, it's a great, gooey cheeseburger. The fries are thin and seasoned well. Also, the employee was right about the sriracha ranch. Had a little bit of heat, but not too much. I will get this again. As others note, it's in a great location at Myriad Gardens. Plenty of places to sit near a small fountain. Fantastic spot for families. But, if you didn't bring the kids with you, Ice House serves beer. All around solid spot, I'll return.

This is for the ice house in the myriad gardens. The first time I stopped by here was just for a drink. They give free refills which is awesome! The second time was for the nics burger meal with fries. It was an excellent burger and love the fries! They are shoestring style. The burger is a good size. The third stop was the same day as the burger but later on I returned for a vanilla malt shake. It was good, but seemed so melted already even though I was waiting to grab it as soon as it was ready. I just wanted the shake to be a little more thicker. My issues were that service was pretty slow. When I was in line for a refill, although there was only one person in front of me, it took such a long time. I don't know if the person in front of me was taking a really long time to order or what. And then when I returned to order the shake, again it took forever to order and then quite awhile to wait for the shake to be ready. So everything is tasty but just be prepared to wait. Which can get annoying during the hot summer months.

When OKC do what Okies do and that's eat a BURGER. Since Nic's was closed I dined at their remote Burger hangout, aka the Ice House OKC. The burger and fries were delivered hot off the grill. Overall it filled me up but I guess the nostalgia was no the same as dining at Nic's. Fortunately the weather was nice the Ice House location. With the Myriad Gardens nearby, folks can take advantage of the sites and sounds by walking off those calories and order another burger afterward !

My friend and I stopped here for dinner before a concert. Nobody was in line when we walked up, we asked how long it would be and was told 10 minutes. 30 minutes later (I checked the time on my receipt) we are still waiting. I walked up to check our order and she said it would be ready in a few minutes, they were just waiting on fries. I stood by the window waiting with 2 other people who had also been waiting close to 30 minutes for their order. When we finally received our order the burger was cool and tasted like it had been sitting for awhile, and there was no ketchup out, only mustard. I decided against asking for any, we needed to go and who knows how long it would have taken. I'm giving this 2 stars because the first time we tried this place we loved it. The burger was delicious. We waited awhile for our food then as well but this was before a Thunder game. Next time I'll stick with Bricktown options.
