The BBQ at Billy Boy is average. I understand this place is a Shawnee Classic, but truthfully the food doesn’t prove to be good enough to be renowned.The atmosphere is cool (feels 90s/80s) and you can tell there is a strong sense of community within the store. It’s a 50/50 chance when we come here. Sometime’s it’s great and sometimes not. Tonight’s ribs were dry, bbq sauce was watery. Baked potato was tough and dry with little meat.

This is my son's favorite place to eat in all of Shawnee. We always get the chopped brisket sandwiches with cheese fries. Food is a little bit of a hit or miss. We went this Friday and got our usual cheese fries and ranch were on point but the brisket tasted off and the BBQ sauce tasted sour. My son ended up with a bad case of food poisoning as a result. Needless to say I think it will be a while before we dine there again.
