Made a reservation a week ahead for a birthday dinner and pacifically requested certain setting within the bar area was told okay. Upon arrival didn’t get the seating that was requested so the evening did not start off well. The steaks were over cooked but didn’t feel the need to complain since nothing from the beginning had started off as requested. This wasn’t our first time there but pretty sure it will be the last.

The food was worth the almost 2 hour wait, as well as the mundane atmosphere. The sirloin was absolutely wonderful, great flavor, and tender. The waiter was great, he picked up immediately our frustration with the food wait time and apologized several times for the overworked kitchen with door dash and other food delivery services as well as the very busy dine in orders they were trying to prepare.Just don't get in a hurry for food when you eat in, just seemed they cared more about thier food deliveries more than those whom dined in. Definitely get an appetizer. We sure were glad we did!

We went for lunch on Valentine's Day. It was very busy. It was our first time. Our waitress was very sweet, courteous, and very attentive. The food was delicious. We had a drink before our meal, an enree each, and split a dessert. The tab was $51, which we thought was very reasonable. The servings are not huge so don't expect a to go box. Appropriately sized for lunch. My husband had the salmon and I had the shrimp scampi. I would have preferred if the scampi would have been served with a few noodles or a light serving of pasta, but the sauce was creamy and very filling. The salads at the next table looked awesome. The restaurant was very clean and the atmosphere was pleasing. I would definitely recommend. Facility was not wheel chair friendly that I could tell. I did not see a ramp and there were stairs to the east entrance If there was another entrance, I did not see it.

Keeping that in mind, you won't be disappointed in the solid choices, mostly delicious food, and moderately upscale decor.Details:We were in town for some basketball games, and looking for a nicer place to grab dinner. This place popped up, and it looked promising.We were asked if we had called ahead for reservations when we came in, and the host made it sound like that was a common occurrence, even though there were so many tables open. (I think the locals make reservations because it is the thing to do?)The waitress was nice, but forgetful... our waters were unfilled throughout the meal.The food was hit and miss. Some delicious appetizers: fried green beans in particular; and the salmon was pretty good. Otherwise, the fare was similar to any chain bbq or steak place - good, but nothing special.Overall, no reason not to visit here once, as long as you don't have your expectations set too high.

Visited our favorite location on 7/28/23 for lunch. We ordered our favorites Spicy Chicken Alfredo with Grilled Blackened Shrimp & Regular Alfredo with Grilled Chicken Breast. We have found no one else compares to Paul's when it comes to their Alfredo. We also ordered the Spinach Artichoke Dip. I don't usually like this kind of dip but make an exception when we visit Paul's because we know it will be good.Our server Crystal was excellent. She was there when we needed her without being intrusive. She's friendly & provides excellent service. I always know when she's our server that our dining experience will be good & there won't be any problems that arise during our meal. We look forward to visiting again very soon.

Always excellent! We have never had a bad meal there. Atmosphere is lacking, but the good food makes up for it. Server's are exceptionally friendly. Our goto steak option even though we don't live in Shawnee.
My Son & I are here from out of town & we went here this evening for steak I had the New York strip & he had the Rib eye,they were both cooked to perfection & I had salad & green beans with mine he had a baked sweet potato & salad he also had appetizer, hot spinach dip, baked potato skins loaded, & cheese bites everything was fantastic I wish I could remember the waitress name she was excellent very prompt & a great attitude, i/we definitely recommend this place and will go back when we are in the area

Paul’s place is a staple in the Shawnee community. Excellent steaks and pasta. My definition of medium rare might be a little different than theirs, so I would advise ordering rare if you’re a “pink center” medium rare person; but even cooked to medium, the steaks are still tender and well seasoned.
