My friend took us out to eat for dinner. The waitress was nice and helpful. Service was amazing. The atmosphere was cozy, we went at a non busy time. Had a pleasant time and definitely recommend trying.

Love this place, too. As an ElChico'er from Texas this place stays true to their Tex- Mex heritage. The tortilla soup is my go to, rather than chicken soup, when I get ill.
I drove to El Chico for lunch today at 10am. Waited until 11am when they opened. When I got inside the waitress tells me that they have a gas leak and that they have no food! I was infuriated! The manager or an employee could have came to the parking and told us! Rude! I was so infuriated I almost got in a car collision!I will not be back to this restaurant! Lazy manager who doesn't care about their customers!

Noticed a strange odor as I came into the restaurant didn't know it was the dirty restroom until after dinner. The food was fine and our waitress was sweet, but if I'd seen the restroom prior to dinner I'd have left without ordering!

I have not been in years. So disappointed and I will not go back. To be fair maybe I just don't have the taste for the guacamole or cheese dip. I ordered shrimp and steak fajitas. Shrimp was ok but the onions and bell peppers where not cooked at all. I hate raw veggies on my fajitas. The manager came around he asked how the food was and I just mentioned that the veggies were not cooked at all and he got very upset and said that's just how they do him and that they would send them back and recook them if I wanted. But of course I have seen the movie Waiting and there is no way I will ever send my food back LOL
