Lively Saturday night visit which included many large groups. Our server, Ruby, had a very large table behind us that kept growing in size but she handled the rush with ease. Artichoke dip - a great start. Smothered chicken - a great choice. Many sides to choose from, all of them good but a bit smallish. But the fried chicken was great and worth the effort to get there. Moist, large pieces and well battered. We will be back because the food was that good.

Cute branding. I think my tenders missed the brine. They were dry and flavorless. The batter encases the chicken and steams it. I think they forgot the salt in the batter. Chewy and bland.The salad was disappointing for $5. Old tomatoes, huge chunks of onions.Our two meals came out 5 minutes apart with literally no one with orders after ours. There was one person in front of us.Overall a disappointing experience.

THE FOOD IS GOOD BUT NOTHING LIKE THE CHARLESTONS AT 31 ST AND PEORIA HOWEVER THE PRICES ARE PRETTY REASONABLE AT FIXINS AND THE WAITERS ARE EXCELLENT WITH NICE

Ive faithfully come to Fixins when it first opened and their food is not consistent. The thing that feels consistent to me is the catfish although their portion sizes don’t always equal the price when getting nuggets. I ordered a to-go order of nuggets today and when I opened the box the tartar sauce was spilled all over the catfish. I hesitantly sent them back and while they fixed them I wished that someone would’ve apologized and corrected their mistake with a discount, extra nuggets or something as I had to wait additional time that I don’t get back because they weren’t careful from the jump. I will still support them but it’s annoying especially when you spend lots of money there.

The first time I went I got smothered chicken but had chicken strips instead of chicken on the bone. It was really good the second time I went I got the smothered pork chops they were good but not spectacular. Everybody else I was with had the fried chicken. My nephew raved about the chicken and waffle.

Omgggggg this place exceeded my expectations! The place is so cute you can feel the black live immediately and the food was nothing but amazing!!! The greens were cooked to perfection the red koolaid was made just right just like we used to make back in the day and the fried chicken and waffles were some of the best I've had! Can't wait to go back to try other menu items!
