I eat lunch here often. It's a few hundred yards from my office. The only negative I have here is the menu is small. I wish there were a few more options - but otherwise the atmosphere, service, and food are all top notch. It's worth adding to your rotation if you work or live downtown.

This restaurant is in the bottom level of a hotel and there are two lots available for parking. You walk into the building and down 4 stairs to the restaurant level. We were seated quickly as they weren't too busy. The interior is really pretty and bright. It has a more upscale feel which is reflected in the lovely smelling bathroom and the nicer and heavier drinking classes that match the wall color. Our waitress was friendly and quick to offer recommendations, which I love. I ordered the American breakfast with eggs, bacon, potatoes, Gluten free toast and hollandaise sauce. They serve house made jelly (raspberry or blueberry) I got the raspberry and it was really good. The hollandaise sauce was decent but I didn't like it enough to want to go back to try the eggs Benedict. My breakfast was good though, I wouldn't mind coming back for lunch and trying some more menu items.

Very nice interesting place to go. On the small side and very busy for a Wednesday night. Wife and I on dinner date for quiet evening. This place, as we found out, definitely not quiet. It echos the noise all throughout. As for the food. We had beef wellington, spinach dip, chalkboard salad, and braised short rib. The flavor of all products was fantastic. Unfortunately everything served room temperature. The side were almost cold. A disappointment considering the price point. We will try again as we had a good experience

Went for Easter Sunday Brunch with my mom. The buffet was $60 a person. With a disappointing selection. Drinks $15 each. They cram the dining areas with extra tables plus the walking multiple flights of narrow stairways to get your food, creating a crammed and elbow to elbow dining experience. They add the 20% tip onto the bill (I normally tip 22%), but for a buffet with nonexistent service... let's just say we'll never go back.

My family went to the Chalkboard for Easter brunch and the food, even in the buffet was superb. Looking forward to returning so we can sample the rest of the menu.

We ate there for the first time last night. Great menu, great atmosphere and service, but my husband now has salmonella poisoning from the chicken ballentine. I have never seen him so sick.

I hadn't been to The Chalkboard in years and thought it would be great to see how it had held up, unfortunately I'm sad to say it was disappointing. The service was okay but the food was not good. We had the cheese board which was very underwhelming. For our entrees we had the filet with mixed veggies and mashed potatoes. The best part was the mashed potatoes. Seriously the steak was very overdone, the mixed veggies were hard and undercooked. My husband had the short rib and it was okay at best. We were out with another couple so we thought we would try dessert to see if maybe there was a redeeming for the food and continue to enjoy the company sadly we tried the bread pudding it was the best thing but still not worth the money. In the end we spent $200 and it was truly the worst food we've had out in a long time. I hate writing this as I love supporting the local restaurants but this is a lot to pay for food as bad as we received. Lastly, the ambiance was also odd at times. The music accidentally got hit up which was strange but a lady came out a few minutes later and shouted sorry to everyone which made it more akward.

Stayed at the hotel and enjoyed a nice breakfast. Eggs Benedict were well cooked and avocado toast delicious! It was clear eggs were "farm fresh". Service was prompt and friendly, and the dining room just lovely!

I gotta tell you, our host, Robert was absolutely phenomenal. He knew the menu in and out. Was extremely polite, concise, conscious, and probably the best host my family has ever had at any establishment.Management: Keep this man and promote him, he is top tier.Thank you Robert and chalkboard for the exquisite dining experience.

I've always wanted to try a beef Wellington. Never found a restaurant that served it without having to call ahead first. The Chalkboard Wellington was absolutely delicious and definitely lived up to what I had in my mind. Loved this place! Amazing food and now one of my favorite places.

Great food, friendly bar and wait staff too! I'll be coming back next time I'm in town. I went there twice while I was in town for work. The mushroom Wellington was the standout though- lots of flavor packed in there and not mushy or watery at all how Wellington's can sometimes get. The scallop and mini Wellington appetizers were also good but a little over salted. Also loved the pecan salad!

Service and atmosphere were fantastic! Food was good, but a bit overpriced for what it was. It was a good experience and worth a try, but there are other options in that finer dining category that I would choose.

As always, our experience was great. Food and service was exceptional. The only thing I would change would be the temperature in the restaurant. It was unbearably cold and we honestly would've stayed longer and had more drinks if it had been a comfortable temperature.

Unfortunate circumstances, family if 6 with crying children were seated next to us which made it hard to have a conversation. Food was good but both our salads lacked enough dressing. Wait staff were kind but dribbled water while filling glasses and accidentally bumped into our chair. Not the high end dining experience we had hoped for.
