Worst Chinese food in Barrie and I have tried many of them. Even the chicken wings were terrible and are probably frozen because they were overcooked and dried out. Their battered shrimp, both the jumbo and the shrimp they sell as sweet and sour is frozen and doughy,. I have been eating fresh made jumbo shrimp for more than 45 years and know when a restaurant switches to frozen product to cut corners Unfortunately one by one these greedy owners go cheap but still rip you off charging more for worse food. Might have known they are a lousy restaurant when I am the only customer in there on a Saturday night.

It must have been in the top five worst chicken wings I've ever eaten

Don’t order chicken chow mein, unless you like ONLY bean sprouts in toilet water. Without getting any refund, credit or replacement.

This is the last time I will be ordering from here, first time the chicken was more cartilage than chicken, but I thought maybe it was a one off and decided to order again. Absolutely horrified to find dark brown, almost burnt chicken balls. Their photos look good (and show nice Golden chicken balls) and the price is awesome but it's such a shame the have absolutely no quality control. I've worked in many restaurants and would never dream of sending out food that was this over cooked. It takes 5 minutes to re make something, accidents happen, but knowingly sending overcooked food out is just a pure lack of care .

I moved up from the city 5 years ago and I’ve been searching for great Chinese food. I’m always disappointed! THIS PLACE IS THE BEST FOOD AROUND! You won’t be disappointed. Price is amazing as well!!

the ordering online through a delivery service was fine and the food arrived hot and only slightly after estimated time (all good at this point). I chose this place because my regular store was closed this night. - spring rolls - tasted fine - just smaller than my usual restaraunt. - cantonese chow mein - plentiful in shrimp, but the other meats that were supposed to be in there were tiny little diced bits you could hardly see. In addition, it was drenched in a salty sauce/gravy which took the option away from to consumer to put it on. - salt and pepper chicken wings were plump, tasty and worth the price. - the house special rice, much like the cantonese chow mein, had a nice supply of shrimp. But again, the other meats you ordered were very small diced bits...hardly noticable. In addition, my rice was rather soft and creamy, not appearing firm and fried like you'd expect "fried rice". I know people prefer what they are used to (I won't name my regular place as I'm not trying to advertise for anyone), but I will not return or recommend Hot Wok.
