We ordered the combo dinner BB for two persons. There are probably enough food for 4 persons ???.Love the shrimp jalfrezi and the lamb, they are very delicious. However, the vegetable curry is rather bland, almost tasteless!The appetizer and the dessert included are not bad! The rice and nan come with it are also good.I took the leftover back home with the plastic containers provided BUT…. they were broken and spilled everywhere in the paper bag. Looks like it’s common phenomenon discussed in other reviews!

Had a wonderful birthday meal. Food was delicious and plentiful - amazing flavours. Chef and server were attentive and sociable. Great value for money.Dietary restrictions: Chef was great at ensuring food for one of our party was dairy free. Didn’t affect the taste at all!
So I went to this restaurant with high expectations.Ordered butter chicken and madras mutton (don’t remember the exact name of the dish).This maybe their version of the dishes, but it was nothing like the “Authentic Indian” butter chicken and madras mutton.Butter chicken had peanuts and wasn’t creamy at all. And Madras mutton was just simple mutton curry which wasn’t well roasted.Naan was good.From the drinks menu only beer was available.Service was quick.All in all, I mean you can try their food and you might like it as well. But it is definitely NOT AUTHENTIC INDIAN CUISINE. (At least these two dishes were not).Good luck!

Our recent visit on Friday evening was excellent as always. We ordered the vegetable pakora to start which was accompanied with an aromatic and flavourful dipping sauce along with dal soup. Our main courses were Rogan Josh a sumptuous beef dish and lamb jalfrezi presented in a wonderful metallic Indian serving dish fashioned like a vase with a rustic exterior. Our meals were accompanied with palao rice and Chana masala. We ordered everything mild spicey heat wise you can order to any degree of heat from mild to very hot; the chef's are masters of their craft at Tara with perfectly seasoned and cooked food. The atmosphere is quite relaxed with a cozy vibe at Tara and run by a caring family that takes pride in the food they prepare for all to enjoy. Recommended, absolutely??

Atmosphere is calm and relaxed. Staff are friendly. Food is top quality. Don't go there if you're in a rush...this isn't fast-food. Good food takes time. The flavours were amazing and the food was fresh! Washrooms are in the basement which would be a consideration for anyone with mobility challenges.

This restaurant is a must try in Barrie! The food is absolutely phenomenal and the owners are wonderful people. I couldn’t recommend this place enough. Do yourself a favour and give these guys a try, you won’t regret it.

Just had the best experience at Tara for a birthday dinner. The chef/owner was friendly and helped me pick a dish - butter shrimp. It was quite sweet and I loved it. The portions were great, everything was cooked fresh, and the chef's enthusiasm and passion for the food came through in every bite of the meal.
Came to Tara to celebrate my birthday. There were nine of us and we all loved it! Amazing food, honestly some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had. The owner came out an was very nice as well. Highly recommended!Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie options!
