This was thee worst experience I had with Jamaican food. Ordered from skip and I must say not a good first impression. Ran out of beef patty and subbed it for veg and it was rock hard and beyond crunchy, oxtail portion was too small for the price, and curry chicken had a weird season and colour to it, like it was submerged in dye and salt. Will not be ordering here again if i want authentic Jamaican. Better places out there.

Great value!Great portions.Great food.I ordered on Door Dash.Small curry goat with white rice, side of steam veg, 1/2 pound of bbq chicken.If there was ever a combo to make for yourself, it’s that.The delivery driver may have been a little careless because I had some BBQ juices over the bag, but the food itself, amazing!I’d highly recommend.
Got a jerk chicken oxtail combo with rice and peas…disappointing the chicken was cold dry and bland. Oxtail was well below par. Sad when the rice and peas was the most flavourful part of the meal.

Great place great food. I jus want the staff to know that when you receive a negative review its probably from a competitor or jus ppl that are looking for a free meal. Keep up the great work you authentic cooking skills an I plan to use your store to do our company putlock soon. Happy holidays

The food is good although there are few rooms for improvement. The dumplings were dry but they also soaked up a lot of oil. The banana bread was also dry. The plaintain was a bit too overripe and greasy. The breadfruit tasted like it was just sitting there. It was not fresh. The ackee was good. Their boiled provision was also good. I love how soft everything was. Their goat was good but I found it a bit too spicy for my tolerance. The jerk chicken, seemed it could use a bit more spice and flavor but still decent. It could've also be a little more tender. Some parts were tender and some part dry. The coleslaw was good. The plantain porridge was decent. It just needed a little more plantain taste. Rice and peas was also decent. I also love how affordable everything was and you get a large portion even for the small size. They are also not stingy with the gravy.

I am saddened to write this, but after passing The New Inn many times on our drive to and from Mablethrope, we’ve always said we should stop for some food at The New Inn (Shelly’s Kitchen), but after our meal today, we wish we had just kept on driving. From the outside The New Inn looks beautiful. When we went in to order it was made clear to us that ‘the food has nothing to do with the pub’, having eaten, I can see why! We ordered 4 Sunday roasts and all had the beef. Firstly, the bickering between the staff at the point of ordering food, in front of a long queue of people, was inappropriate and soured the mood. Secondly, being handed filthy cutlery at the outset did not bode well. The cutlery was quickly handed back and it took some time to exchange. Thirdly and most importantly, the four meals we ordered were very poor; to explain:- - Everything had been clearly frozen and then microwaved - The roast potatoes were inedible - what is that flavour on them? They were cold and tasted ‘old’ - The gravy had literally no taste - The mashed potato was 100% packet mashed potato - it was also very cold - The cabbage was watery and tasted of water, it had zero flavour - The Carrots were solid and undercooked as well as tasteless - The Yorkshire Puddings were clearly frozen - The beef was tough and fatty The only thing that had any taste was the horseradish sauce. It really is a shame to have to write this but we left near enough all of the food. We could not face wasting Monday on any pudding, a pudding which we had all planned to order initially. The meals were inedible as described above. It is all just such a shame and again, it is sad to have to write this but it’s an honest opinion and standards surely need to be better than this. We feel throughly ripped off but for just under £10 per meal there was no point in asking for a refund. Sadly, we will not be back and could not recommend the food.
