I have always enjoyed the Botanical Garden’s and have been a member for many years. However, after trying several times to reserve or find out how things were going, I got through to the General phone line and found out information. The one piece of information was that you need a garden ticket to get into the Cafe.. Several of us are members but some aren’t. Before members received a discount..Now you need a ticket to get in..plus the cost of the meal. Sorry I reserved at another restaurant just down the road.

You now have to order, pay, and tip first - at a counter. Ladies at the cash friendly and helpful. Gentlemen waiter - a ghost. Overcooked veal cutlet, undercooked chicken, strange almost cajun red sauce, not a kaiser bun as said on menu, and greasy spoon onion rings. Really down hill from previous visits.

Pretty disappointing cafe at lunch time for such nice gardens. It's clearly an after thought. Only cold food, other than soup, but the soup is less than a half cup portion. Wouldn't be surprised if the soup came from a frozen bulk bag. The juice is served in a plastic cup. The options are extremely limited and still very over priced.

I went to the Greenhouse Cafe with my husband for lunch because of the wonderful experience we had last year. But much to our disappointment, we were told that they no longer had table service. Our choices were cold premade wraps. We both had the chicken club wrap which consisted of one piece of bacon and a non-existant piece of chicken which was lost amongst the large amount of lettuce. The wrap consisted of 80% lettuce. It was overpriced at $17. There was only one choice of soup. My husband had the clam chowder, which I couldn't have due to allergies. We also got two scones for $7 a piece. I had to ask the staff for the cream and jam which they didn't know they had. The cream was frozen solid which made it difficult to spread on the scone. All in all, we paid $60 for food that would have cost a fraction of the cost at Tim Hortons. Their website had no mention of the self service as it had not been updated. The staff had not been trained and the manager was no help at all by staying in the back room. If the website had been updated, we would have eaten somewhere else, but we had no other choices at RBG. When we paid for the food, it was quite ironic that the machine asked if we wanted to pay for a tip.

A really good place to eat in the botanical gardens, the only thing is the default tip is that it is really high for such a place so people that feel awkward to put a manual tip may feel a bad taste at the end of the experience. I personally lowered it in half...

We enjoyed the greenhouse cafe very much. We found the menu varied with many possible items from which to pick. The wine was excellent as were the prices. A very pleasurable experience

We enjoyed an excellent lunch. The cream of mushroom soup and Lake Eerie fish and chips was the best I have ever had. Service was excellent. Noise level a bit high, but overall a wonderful experience.

Waited over 30 minutes for a mediocre wrap and frittata. The staff were quite grim - they could get some training from the shop staff who were much more pleasant.

Food was good but no one told us that the kitchen closed at 5 pm (we had a 4:30 pm reservation). We finished dinner around 5:15 pm and when we asked about dessert we were told the kitchen was closed. It would have been nice to have been told that earlier when we might have still been able to order dessert. I would return for lunch but not dinner.

Food and service were great, we have several dietary issues in my family and there were so many incredible options. Not often do you find vegan, gluten free deserts but the brownie here nailed it!

We were four for lunch. Everything was fine; just not exceptional. Did not care for the Caesar salad - lettuce was crisp but dressing was thin and bland, not rich and creamy. Soup was tasty but watery. Service was great and they allowed us to linger and chat as long as we liked.

While the service was reasonably good the food was disappointing. Not a Caesar salad and the mussels advertised chips but we were told they were in the mussels. Very odd and only about 4 small discs. First time at RBG having a below par meal. Disappointing.
