Customer service on the phone was really bad actually. The guy I talked to was a few crayons short of a fullPack, when I finally placed my order and re corrected the spelling of my street name 4 times the food was great! The hours are not really customer friendly and if you try and call 1 hour before closing they just stand there watching the phone ring a suggestion to the owners, fire that guy that answers the phone and get a competent person in there! Also try skip and dash your food is good you will do well. Also Shanghai comes with THICK noodles!! Not lo main just sayin!!

So 4 years ago I thought it was the most amazing Chinese ever, been going here for over 30 years. Couldn't wait to eat there when I visited from BC. Oh how that has changed. The hours are Ludacris and the guy at the front is not the friendliest. The food was terrible all of it tasted like it had been frozen and was old. Egg rolls are my fav but these were slimey in the middle and burnt on the outside. Everything tasted like fishy old grease and massive amounts of salt. What a shame...my family ate here most of my life once a week and my kids loved coming here. Needless to say I won't ever eat here again and I really think the health board should visit...I'm praying I don't get sick.

No more free chicken wings when you spend $35(pre tax) or more! I have been a regular at Shanghai for 30yrs and they have always had the free chicken wings offer. Now they don’t offer the free wings, the discount when you pay cash is now $50(pre tax) and there hours are horrible. Plus their customer service seriously needs some work. The food is great though, I just don’t know if that’s enough to keep them in business. I hope so, fingers crossed?

Going to this spot for pick up was so nostalgia for me! It definitely reminds me of the old, hometown Chinese spot where I come from. HOEVER, I really wish I could get passed the smell of the place. It was so stale and over powering I almost had to wait outside to pick up our food. I was digging feeling like I was walking in to a huge time warp (to say the restaurant is out of date is an understatement) but the smell was just so off putting.We got Cantonese chow mein, beef and broccoli, lemon chicken ..chicken wings and two egg rolls .The Chow mein was passable - nothing to write home about.The beef in the beef and broccoli was confusing. Half of the beef was so tough it was difficult to chew through and the other half was tender enough.Lemon chicken was ok. The breading fell off and was difficult to serve without losing it all due to it being too soggy. Some more cornstarch in the batter and service the sauce on the side would be better.The chicken wings were SO greasy. It’s almost like the oil they fried them in wasn’t hot enough, so instead it was like chicken wing confitThe egg rolls were tough to chew threw. They definitely tastes old. The filling was quite limp and toughI don’t think I’ll be back

No need for rude comments like he's been giving to people. Maybe customers would pay the outrageous prices if the service was as good as the food.
Shanghai Resaurant has always come through in a Pinch. I have even converted some relatives to purchase their food. Even though it's now pickup only, I like that they are business like but polite. I will continue to support this local business.

This is by far the best Chinese food restaurant in Cambridge!!!! We moved here almost five years ago and have been looking for a good Chinese restaurant and we finally found an awesome one! The food was delicious!!! The staff was incredibly pleasant as was the delivery driver. I highly recommend this place!

Most of the food I ordered was good , but I was disappointed with sweet and sour short ribs because I couldn’t tell what they were. Was mostly gristle breaded with sweet and sour sauce on it. Plus I also ordered chicken chow mein which I thought was supposed to be noodles with chicken and chinese vegetables, but it turned out to be chicken with bok choy and other veggies but no noodles or rice. Not sure what happened but I wish they could’ve called me to say do you want a substitute for this or we don’t have that. Other food we had was great.

Won’t do delivery unless they feel fit. Close at 8pm won’t take delivery order after 6pm. What once was a 5 star review is now a one star. I was generous before. The food is salty af. And guy on phone rude as ****.
