Two appetizers not available , only informed after they were ordered. The duck entree was ridiculously salty. the strawberry cheese cake was actually raspberry cheese cake . First time dining at the establishment not impressed.

My wife and I went to this restaurant to celebrate her birthday. We had made reservations and were immediately greeted at the door by one of the servers who sat us inside by the window with a beautiful view of the river. My wife ordered the calamari as an appetizer and I had the roasted beet salad and both did not disappoint. The calamari was done perfectly and my salad was nice and fresh with plenty of nicely done beets. My main course was the duck confit which was somewhat disappointing. The two legs I first received were so dry I could not even cut them. I mentioned this to the server who immediately ordered another one to replace this. Unfortunately this one was only marginally better. I question whether the duck had been frozen to long or thawed in the microwave but it was certainly very tough and dry.My wife's lamb was done perfectly and she quite enjoyed it with the roasted vegetables. All in all an enjoyable evening...just don't order the duck.

We had a lovely dinner at Boulton House. The atmosphere on the outdoor patio was so relaxing and the food was phenomenal. Service was top notch. We highly recommend this restaurant for great food and excellent service.

Had dinner with my family this past Saturday. Food and service was very good, I was pleasantly surprised. The indoor resto is pretty small, so is the bar area. I saw that the outdoor patio by the river was pretty large, I willl be back to visit soon once the weather warms up. Staff were very friendly. I gave the ambiance a 3 star since for some reason the resto dims the lights after like 7 or 8 pm, twice while we were there, VERY annoying. At the end of the meal my sister was going to order dessert, but decided not to since she couldn't see the menu!! I believe we left after 9 PM. Overall a great experience (food + service), not so for the lighting in the evening.Negatives:Salmon main meal, more garnish than fishElk starter, more garnish than meatSome staff are inexperienced, but trying hardPositives:Lobster spaghetti meal is plentiful and a little spicyHalibut main meal is good, 2 nice portions of fish in coconut sauceChicken Parm was a good portion and tastyBruschetta was tastyParking: Might be hard to find parking on a busy day, the lot is small, so is the street...

Our group of 12 made a reservation for our large party a few months before the dinner date. They called us once two weeks prior asking us to reconfirm the number for our party. There was no other communication from the venue that there was an issue. Upon arrival, the manager on duty told the organizer of our party that we would not be served dinner as they were “under the impression we were only there for drinks and apps”. This was never communicated to the restaurant. As this issue presented itself, the manager did not provide any valuable solutions to help resolve the matter. Throughout the night, we constantly felt like we were being rushed out of there; a party of 12 finished ordering, eating a paying in around an hour… In addition, the server needed to come around to the table multiple times to reconfirm who had ordered what, drinks and plates were served to the wrong people, and final bills were misprinted numerous times. This was simply not the experience we were hoping to have. Once we left, we called back the restaurant to provide some feedback on the experience. They were slightly receptive, but continue with excuses that were unsupported. Our party was not looking for anything out of this experience other than a good meal and good conversation. We hope that this feedback provides an opportunity for the restaurant to tighten up communication with their large party reservations and to uphold the level of service we hoped for, but did not receive, while visiting.

Food is mediocre at best, small portions for the costs. Service was horrible and made our entire party feel unwelcome to the point where we left as soon as possible. We made a reservation weeks in advance for a table of 12 specifically for dinner. When we arrived, they asked us to confirm that our entire party wouldn’t be having any food even though our reservation was for 5:30 pm and we were seated at a table, not a bar high top. We said that we were there for dinner and the server informed us that if we wanted to order food, it would take an extremely long time for us to get our food. We ended up only getting drinks and appetizers. The serve staff was either extremely novice or not trained properly. They brought all our drinks at different times, and then rushed us to clear our plates and pay our bills. All of the bills were also organized wrong even though we wasted so much time when we first sat down to organize the orders. They put the onus on us as the clients to figure out our orders, eat fast, and clarify the bills so that they could rush our party out. We called the restaurant afterwards to explain that our experience was horrible and our friends Bachelorette evening was ruined, the staff on the phone was completely unresponsive and defensive. Would never recommend. The lack of customer service is not worth the cheap decor and average food.

Had been wanting to try this restaurant forever and had really high hopes of finding a place that might become my weekly dining spot because Im not much of a cook but unfortunately it didn't turn out the way I had hoped. My first effort I ordered their ravioli for take-out. Got home and found the temperature was good and it looked presentable and the sauce and the filling was beautiful and quite tasty but unfortunately the pasta itself was absolutely awful. The outer edges of each ravioli piece was as hard as a rock. So much so that I ended up giving up on almost half of the order when I couldn't even get the side of my fork through an individual piece to take a bite of the ravioli. Hoping it was an off night I ordered a simple Ceaser salad for take-out a couple of weeks later assuming it would be hard to mess something like that up. Got home, opened up the container and it literally looked like they just plunked down the main stock of the lettuce and called it a day. I ended up cutting/trimming off what little actual lettuce was there and then added the dressing that came with it from a small container. So disappointed. In light of the premium prices I havnt had the nerve to return to give them a third opportunity to disappoint me. I'm pretty confident I won't be trying again. Unfortunate since there aren't very many quality dining spots in close proximity. I will say that the young lady who settled my bill was very nice and professional. I mention it because I was still wearing my work clothes at the time but she made me feel welcome just the same.

Went for my Dad’s birthday and had a phenomenal time! Chef Brian came by to say hi as well and Veronique was a great server!Kid-friendliness: Ordered a side of mashed potatoes and an “add-on” side steak for my 7yo and it came out looking like it belonged on the menu!

Had a perfect meal and experience for our first date. It was a quiet time which is somewhat expected after the holiday season. I’m sure if was busy we would have had an equally wonderful time. Service was top notch, thank you Rachel! The dining room was comfortable, relaxed with a beautiful view of the falls on the river. To top it off the food was delicious. Brian the chef check with us a couple of times to make sure everything was met our expectations and it was. It was a pleasure to speak with him and hear a little about Boulton House. Great guy! Will 100% be returning. Absolutely a perfect memory for our first date. Thank you.
