Recently came here for a 5-course farm-to-table cooking class for a birthday celebration. It was the best cooking class I’ve experienced so far. Chef Mathew Sutherland is a seasoned chef, we got lots of pro tips to enhance our skills in the kitchen. However, this is not a hands-on experience for everyone there and if you expect everyone to be chopping or stirring something maybe try a more basic cooking class with a simpler menu. We were impressed with the seasonal ingredients used, wild leeks and fiddleheads. His assistant, Adamo, made fabulous cocktails. This is the perfect cooking class for birthday celebrations, team building, wedding showers or just as an alternative to dinner and a play! The food was delicious! Booking online was also super easy, any queries Chef upstairs is very responsive. Excellent experience!

I took my partner here for his birthday. We did the Middle Eastern Mezze class and loved it! Mathew and Jesse were a fabulous team - the space was beautiful and the food was amazing. We even got to take home some leftovers.

What an amazing night yesterday at The Chef Upstairs in Vaughan! Taylor is an inspiring chef! You can really tell how much passion she has for the culinary arts. She had so many tips and tricks, she could write a book. Adamo was so courteous and helpful. From the warm welcome and always being nearby to assist with anything, a true gentleman.The menu included a Cesar salad, pasta carbonara, and tiramisu. Everything was made from scratch, and tasted spectacular. This is such a fun cooking class, I learned a lot, met some amazing people, it’s a great idea for a date, or a solo night out. I hope they come up with a membership plan so o can do more classes. I already signed up for another one in June. I can’t wait. I absolutely recommend 100%.

We recently organized a corporate team building event here, and it surpassed all expectations! It was an absolute blast!What's great is that even if you're not a culinary expert, the staff are there to guide you every step of the way, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable cooking experience. Also, indulging in some wine while cooking added an extra layer of enjoyment. :)The staff were incredibly friendly and patient throughout the event, making sure everyone felt comfortable and included. The service for drinks was top-notch... I never once found my wine glass empty!To top it off, we had the opportunity to customize aprons with our company logo, which was a fantastic touch. Everyone appreciated the thoughtful gesture and it made the event even more memorable.Overall, it was an unforgettable experience, and I wouldn't hesitate to return for another team building outing. Highly recommended! Thank you Chef Taylor, Chef Luis and team for such an unforgettable experience!

My daughter had her 15th birthday party at The Chef Upstairs in Vaughan. It was easy to organize, with lots of flexibility and options. We did a Sunday brunch and the guests learned how to cook crepes, omelettes and home fried potatoes. The instructions were thorough and the girls loved participating and then enjoying eating what they learned to make. The chef and instructors, Luis and Elizabeth were professional, attentive to every detail and engaging. The facility was clean, had a great set up for participating, and they provide everything including decorations and aprons. We highly recommend The Chef Upstairs for cooking lessons / birthday parties.

I held my son’s birthday at the Chef Upstairs and I cannot be more pleased with how happy he was, and all of his little friends were. They had such a great time. Chef Taylor and the staff were accommodating and engaging and of course the food was absolutely delicious!

The trifecta of personality, fun and fine food! What an absolute blast I had on my birthday!. Chef Taylor, Elle and Adamo personify “dream team.” The fun that they have working together is evident and equally matched by their passion and desire for everyone attending to have just as much fun as they are! They provided an energy charged, yet familiar and comfortable atmosphere, and the recipes were phenomenal! There were three of us in total, and even the young man in our family who joined us was full of questions that were all answered!Again, Chef Taylor, Elle and Adamo were so full of passion, fun and energy one could think that perhaps they had just started working there, but they had already had a long week and this evening was going into four and five hours, and they were as friendly and fresh as when we got there.Highly recommend! It was honestly like being in a movie. Romantic, delicious, and an absolutely stunning experience!We were lucky enough to have Chef Julian Pancer and his wife join us for the evening during the first ever Dinner & Dancing night at TCU, where Chef Taylor and the awesome Adamo hosted us for an incredible experience. We got to learn how to make amazing pasta by hand, share stories, enjoy a wonderful dinner+dessert and learn Couples Dancing as well!The most memorable part for me was easily the dancing; it was an experience that can’t be described and I absolutely look forward to the next class. Absolutely worth the money and the fun.A million thanks for having us! Carter and I loved it and we’ll be back again soon!
