We suddenly stumbled upon Cakes and Bakes this weekend when driving down Bloor St. How we have not noticed it before as every few weeks we are driving along this stretch is beyond me.After a couple of errands in the area, we walked into Cakes and Bakes. There are so many colorful sweet treats on display!We got 2 cupcakes, 2 donuts, and 2 popsicle cake pops to go. There is a nice variety of flavors, so it was tough to choose.My wife was thrilled about and loved the honey lavender cupcake. She hopes it is available again as it was a "flavor of the week."" I had the chocolate caramel and really enjoyed it too.Today, we had the donuts. I had the Boston cream, which I must say is the best one that I have ever had. She had the coconut. Her description of it was similar to mine. Having the lavender cupcake and the coconut donut the day we walked in has "sold" my wife to this establishment.We will have the cake pops later today for our dessert. I am sure they will be just as pleasing to the taste buds.The staff, well it was one person behind the counter, was very friendly and helpful.The overall appearance of the establishment was clean and tidy.We've read many reviews from others since visiting, and it's great to see what others are saying, and seeing what they got... especially the custom cakes.We look forward to another visit in a few weeks and trying some other things.Oh, wait, my wife just said she's thinking that we should drive down there later this morning so she can get one more honey lavender cupcake. I ordered a cake her for my daughter's 2nd birthday. I described a cake that I wanted to the owner and she showed me a picture of what she could do. I asked for a few minor adjustments on the colors. When I came to pick up the cake it looked even better than the picture. When the guests at the party ate the cake they all asked where the cake was from because it was so delicious! I will definatley be returning to Cakes and Bakes for any major event in the future!To management: you respond fast, you truly listen to the customer, you're flexible with pickup, and your entire business screams confidence in your products. I want to let you know you're doing an amazing job

Ordered a 3-tier cake with these guys for a business anniversary celebration and they went above and beyond to satisfy all my requests. The cake turned out even better than I expected. Huge shoutout to their customer service. Not only they stayed late to accommodate me but helped with loading the cake. We will be back many times more in the future! ??????

Asked this shop to do gender reveal cake pops so that we could share this special occasion with our family. We told them to mark it so that the last one could go to my husband and specifically called them twice to mark it. They explained while picking it up that they did not mark it. No apologies, no compensation and they screwed up our special moment. Highly discourage anybody from doing a gender reveal with this shop who clearly lacks empathy. Very frustrating experience!!

I ordered a piece of tiramisu on Uber and it was so disappointing. The mascarpone cheese layer was too thin and gummy that I could barely tell it’s a tiramisu. The sponges were also very dry. It was more like a plain chocolate sponge cake with cream cheese and cocoa powder. And its gummy texture was very unpleasant.
