What a hidden gem! Some of the best Italian food I have had outside of Italy. Their gorgonzola gnocchi is to die for. Great portion sizes and the wine is well priced. Highly recommend this place to anyone!

This is the best Italian food in the West end. How rare, to say every dish - even outside your comfort zone - is utterly delicious. The award-winning tiramisu gets made in-house. Service is quick and friendly. When in Etobicoke, looking for Italian food without trying Trattoria Leonardo is a mistake.Leonardo's theme is "comfortable dining" - a Trattoria is the polar opposite to 'an expensive restaurant, with over-the-top attempts at a fancy menu'.Leonardo's interior design is almost like eating a meal at "your Italian grandma's house". It's not fancy, but it has a homely quality of warmth. Tables and seating is spaced out.The menu has all the Italian favourites you expect to see - with some house recipes you wouldn't. The wine and drink menu is simple......and, again, the menu is out of this world top to bottom. It's as if "your Italian grandmother", with all of those 'wow-tasting secret family recipes', is cooking for you - in generous portions, too. Soup. Salad. Pasta. Lasagna. Veal. Lamb. You cannot miss - they're all going to be heavenly. The service staff is amazing, too. Whether you eat fast or slow, you're accommodated. Your happiness is paramount. Even if you're walk-in customers, they'll fit you in and you'll get the same standards of care.Bottom line, Trattoria Leonardo is not just the best value dining for Italian restaurants in Etobicoke - it's one of the best Italian restaurants, period.

Classic "mom&pop" Italian restaurant with a large menu and portions! The owner provided many great recommendations not just with the meals but the wine as well.Generous with the sauce and cheese in the dishes.

This place is great, the food was spot on. I had the lasagna and it was delicious and a generous portion. The staff is welcoming and very friendly. This place feels like you're in Italy, I recommend it.

Terrible service and the food was very mediocre. One waiter swore at us when he had to get another table ready, and the other one when asked what he would recommend on the menu, refused to answer the question! Not even in a polite way, he said he didn't have time as their menu is too big. Should have left right at beginning but was convinced I heard wrong. Was in shock about the horrible service and mediocre food. Speaks volumes that our Italians friend in the area had absolutely nothing good to say about this place. Would not recommend.

Delicious food and amazing service! Will definitely come back to try other dishes. Our group enjoyed the lasagna, veal Marsala and salmon and all were perfection.

My favourite restaurant in my hometown. Best lasagna and calamari ever. Once you walk inside, it is like you are back in the 1700s. Such a unique atmosphere with a romantic touch and sweet staff.

Delicious! We ordered take out, had the Calamari, Veal Calabrese, a pasta and it was delicious! Bread was a nice touch to soak up all the jus from the Veal!

New Year's dinner we decided on local Italian food. I've been wanting to try this place and looking for something very old school. Trattoria Leonardo fits that bill. Old school waiters, dark red wall paper and carpet . I ordered the Escargot as an appetizer it was garlicky, buttery and very good. It was nice to soak up the butter with the free bread provided. We also ordered Casear Salad and they were kind enough to split it on two plates. For the mains I ordered the Veal Osso Buco which was recommended by the waiter. It was served with a side of Penne and I asked for rose instead of red sauce. The meat was fall off the bone very tender and the side of pasta was a great addition. This main was a great way to end 2021. I will definitely return to Trattoria Leonardo. It was great all round. Good food, service and the house wine was very good too!

Outstanding service and food in an unassuming but quaint restaurant. A great menu that offers fantastic value. A neighborhood gem. If we lived in the Toronto area, we would be regulars.

I looked at pictures of the food online before coming and did not have high hopes going into this meal. I am pleased to report the the food far exceeded my expectations. The meal began when they brought complementary bruschetta to the table. I am not a fan of Bruschetta but my boyfriend said it was delicious, either way it was a pleasant surprise. We started with a Cesar salad and they brought it out on 2 plates without us even having to ask. My main dish was an angliotti in a cream sauce with spinach and ricotta inside. The pasta was perfectly cook and the ricotta inside was fresh and flavorful. The sauce was creamy and light, the consistency of a soup more so then a thick sauce. I finished the meal off with a lemon sorbet which had the coolest platting! It came in a lemon! The top of the lemon was placed on a scoop of frozen sorbet and more sorbet was in the bottom of the hallowed out lemon! Service was great and the food was even more fantastic! Will definitely be back!

Our visit to Trattoria Leonardo was fantastic. Actually it was nostalgic to be in a classic cozy Italian restaurant in a long while. The menu had a lot of favorite selections and the staff was friendly and professional. Please give them a visit, I know my family and I certainly will!

Cute little resto. Extremely attentive and friendly staff. We received complimentary bruschetta to start. Toasty and warm bread topped with fresh tomatoes, well seasoned. Calamari was lightly battered and fried perfectly golden brown. My friend and I were sharing everything and the server brought out two plates of veal Marsala each with half portion of meat, veggies and potatoes. I thought that was so thoughtful! Ended our meal with some coffee and tiramisu. It was a quiet night as we went on Monday evening but there were guests coming and going during our 2.5hr stay. One disappointment is that they don’t serve pizza as I was looking forward to trying some after seeing pics on Google review. Nonetheless, I’ll return to try other dishes.
