Had the best time with the kitties at the cafe!

Maybe my expectations were too high, but I was expecting to walk into a nice cafe (hence the name Kitty Cafe) where I can order a coffee, sit and watch my kids interact with the cats, not an old convenience store. I thought I was in the wrong place and the store clerk pointed me to the back of the store. She was nice enough and checked us in, but I was really disappointed that it was not as advertised. Instead it was just a dim and dingy room in the back of a convenient store. My kids made the best of it. Most of the cats were sleeping or hiding. A few were social which was nice. I just felt awkward and uncomfortable the whole time. It was just not how I imagined.

Just awful. It's not a cat cafe like japan. As usual this is a cheap attempt at "cat cafe" which is rarely done right in the country. I'm not sure why.The cafe is nothing but a dingy convenience store. It looks so ugly. This is not a "walk in" service. They seem to take offense to people wanting to just have a coffee and sit with the cats (there's nowhere to sit in the supposed "cafe"), like normal cat cafes are supposed to provide. Why is this even called a cat cafe? It's a shelter. Looks like a cheap excuse for one too. Not sure how it gets 4.5 stars. God forbid you do anything on a whim anymore. 10$ per person and a required week-ahead appointment to stand around in a dirty storefront and have overpriced coffee, perhaps with cats. If they come out. Amazing. Totally worth it. ?Makes me want to open a real one, just to bring a part of the japan experience that is always so wonderful and clean.

I got an iced coffee it was delicious and the person working there was very friendly, but the cats were over stimulated and not very socailable.

Dump Dump any business represents the content of owners brain. old outdated , food served right put of can. ? cats all over the place jumping on tables . Inner city yuppie customers sitting on couches from 1980s. Over priced food. Few sandwiches which were not available. how you can call it a resturant. I went there to amuse my daughter. The good thing was there were no mice. Because the cats ate them all.

I didn’t try any drinks or food, as I didn’t get strong cafes vibes, but the cats are adorable. Such a great way to advertise pets in need of adoption - by having people come in for an hour and hang out. Wasn’t aware you needed to book an appointment, and wish their timing was a little more flexible than only being able to go in at a specific time every hour. But nonetheless a cool place.

They don’t want children at all it seems. Staff is rude about the rules and seem to be annoyed. Not

Please keep in my not to bring kids into this place as they really do not want them, which I can understand but their web site specifically allows kids. The staff at the cafe was pretty rude and really not sure how they could run a place by behaving ruthless to their customer. Compared to the cat cafe at Stratford this place is a big thumbs down.

I personally think this place should not be open to kids mainly because the kitties were terrified of them! They had less kitties (which is good) but then most were sleeping or hiding so we did not feel it was worth it. It’s a good option if you’re going to adopt for sure but not for an outing!

It should be at the top of this profile that you need to make a reservation to see any cats. This listing should have a Booking Feature the way other places that require a booking do. My daughter was so excited and we were so disappointed...

Go for the kittens. Save the kittens. I loved the concept and I give credit where credit is due; the cats are well taken care of. We arrived a good 5 minutes before our booked time to ensure we had our full 50 minutes of time. There was another customer asking questions when we arrived, so we browsed the cute little cat themed items for sale. You are given this little alarm that beeps once your 50 minutes are up. We didn't end up being allowed into the back room until 5 minutes past our booked time.I think the owner is honestly what messes this whole place up for me. There are people that just don't have customer service, she is one of them. She strolled in while we were relaxing on the couch and the interaction was pleasant enough. However her first go to for small talk is complaining about other customers who experienced disappointment during their previous visits. This is a first flag. Clearly looking for validation for the choices she has made that frankly benefit the cats.We were in the back with another 2 ladies whose alarm went off at 10:50 am. They proceeded to pack up and leave. They were there before us. At this point the owner tells us our time is about up as those other girls were here for 50 minutes like us. When we told her our beeper didn't go off, she then blames the girl at the front counter for never using it properly as to why our beeper hadn't gone off. She assumed we were late and stated they dont extend time to those who were late, which was not the case...we were early and expected our time to start once we were in the back (especially because the hold up was not due to us). The other couple arrived early she explained...so then they rightfully got extra time? But we were just told they don't give extra time? She then said there were others waiting. The website said they accommodate 10 people in the back. When we got up to leave, there was literally 2 people in the store....had the store owner allowed us our paid for 50 minutes we wouldn't have been over crowded. It just didn't seem like a fight to me?It's not something I was going to argue about as we already decided to not spend further money there. She asked me if i had a problem to which i said no and thanked her. When we tried to explain everything she was very argumentative and you could feel the aura of the room shift. Acting like a crowd of people were waiting., then fix your booking system. We went with the intent to purchase something for the road and left just disappointed. Feeling like we were accused of stealing time we paid for when it wasn't our fault we didn't get our paid for time...everyone is cut off at 50 minutes...except for the couple ahead of us? Then excuses about people waiting for us to leave when she wasn't at capacity. Then blaming the store front girl instead of just using technology that works properly then? It's a lovely idea, but the experience is not what you'd expect unless the owner truly learns some manners.and etiquette.

I made an online reservation for a 50 minute time slot to play with the cats. Girlfriend had a great time and the place was kept very clean.Make sure you bring an extra pair of socks as all entrants must take off outdoor shoes before entering the play areaWe will return if we are ever in the Guelph area.
