Stopped in Hamilton for an overnight stay at the Sheraton Hotel in the downtown area. After checking in I searched google and yelp for some dinner ideas. Not having a car I wanted something in walking distance. By chance I found the menu for the Sheratons restaurant and was impressed by the variety and descriptions of the dishes! So I decided to give it a try and was pleasantly surprised! I was the first diner so it was quiet and relaxing and I had a nice table. My server, Dean, was prompt, efficient, and knew the menu well. I chose the saffron risotto with grilled salmon, the risotto was properly cooked, creamy, slightly firm, with peas, topped with parmigiana and 3 large grilled asparagus. The salmon had crispy skin and was nicely seasoned. Overall the meal was excellent and a good sized portion! I paired it with a glass of Chardonnay from Ontario that was generous and delightful. Give the Chagall a try you'll be surprised and satisfied with a delicious meal, a variety of inventive dishes, very good service, and reasonable prices, and best of all you don't have to leave the hotel!

Exceptional experience. My reservation for two changed and I still went and very glad that I did. I ordered their Gluten Free Flourless Chocolate Torte. Tortes for those who don't know are made with a higher ratio of eggs and butter and as such a much smaller portion is usually the way to go. As a chocolate lover this was a fantasy come true. The density/texture balanced between fudge and a brownie was superb. The depth of chocolate taste was deep and luxurious. The sugar content was a perfect nudge down allowing for the chocolate flavour to reign. The presentation was lovely and the berries were carefully selected for peak ripeness and taste. They contrasted beautifully with the torte. I ordered a single scoop of quality French vanilla icecream for $1.50 additional. This allowed for a palette cleanser effect of sorts in between bites. I savoured this experience. My server was pleasant and not overly "nice,' and this was welcome and refreshing. For a Tuesday at 5 this restaurant had only two patrons, which was fine by me. My bill came to $10.74 and left enough room for a healthy tip. The server told me that the menu will be changing in a couple of weeks. I pray that when I return in about 4 weeks that this glorious dessert will still be offered.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options are available.

Went here for brunch with a friend and left without having anything to eat or drink. The website menu was misleading in that they advertized an "all day" menu and we understood it to be served "all day". I have dietary restrictions so many of the items on the breakfast menu were not an option for me. We really wanted to treat ourselves to a nice brunch but it was not found here, Given the attitude of the staff ( apparently it is my fault I have dietary restructions and I should know better when eating out) I doubt I will return for lunch or dinner.

First time dining at Chagalls, great service and food, Sweet potato waffle fries could have been hotter, so fabulous waiter compt desert. He was a great server. Nailed my steak doneness right on. Our friends Cob salad and Jambalaya were also well recieved. Some of the decor could use some attention, overall a great pre- HPO dinner.Water with sliced cucumber was a refreshing touch.

The basil spaghetti was completely delicious as was the dessert. I always tend to question why a simple dish like spaghetti would be on the menu, but since it was a vegetarian option I gave it a try. The noiçois olives were delicious along with the basil and cherry tomatoes that added depth to the flavour. Very nice meal presentation! The flourless chocolate cake was a very rich and good flavoured chocolate. Served with ice cream, it was the perfect way to cut the sweetness and a nice way of ending an excellent dinner. Highly recommend eating here if you're looking for a clean and quiet place to eat. Also, good quality food

I was staying at the Sheraton Hamilton, and seeing as this restaurant is located within (and that traversing the downtown area terrifies me), I elected to dine here for supper. I was very happy with the decision, as the sirloin was one of the best steaks I’ve had in my life! Delightful service too! My server recommended an outstanding Cabernet and the whole experience was outstanding! Thanks so much!
