I asked the counter staff about the food being Halal. They told me that the food is Halal. I didn’t ask for the Halal certificate, but I expected them to show. Anyway, I tried finding it on the walls there, but sadly couldn’t find the Halal certificate among so much other art and stuff on the walls.Regarding the food, the Chicken Shawarma was never close to the authentic / original Chicken Shawarma. The meal was tasty but if you’re expecting the taste of authentic Chicken Shawarma, you’d be disappointed. Though the portion size was generous.I hope they can clear out this confusion of the Halal food as I read other comments about this topic too.

By far the BEST shawarma in the city. You get massive portions, affordable for your wallet, and the flavours all mesh together. I can't say anything bad about this place. The sauce is the boss! The sauce makes or breaks the shawarma experience, and this place has perfected their sauces. I can't find a shawarma place that does better garlic sauce or better shawarma rice.Service is great! Really friendly. It's a family run restaurant that have been there for years.I highly highly recommend this place if you love shawarma.EDIT 5 Years Later: Been going here for over 12 years, since high school. They are the OG. Came last night again with friend before closing and they are always consistent. The renos are so nice too. Truly a Hamilton Gem and iconic place. So so so good.

I’ve had their food before and it’s good. I called an hour before I wanted my order, attempting to place an order for pickup but because it was a small order they said it won’t take them long and to just come to the location. So after work I drive back to town and go out of my way to go there and it says they’re closed.. I’m not sure if they ran out or what, but that’s why I called in advance.

I wanted to like it. The pictures I saw before made it look good.Sadly, the meal I had didn't live up to expectations. Both the rice and chicken were just too dry. Without the sauce, they both lacked any real flavor which was a surprise.I found the salad and pita bread more edible, but no one comes to a shawarma place for the side orders. The main course should be the priority.Regardless, this seems to have been my experience after trying several Shawarma restaurants in Hamilton, so perhaps it's a city problem. In prior reviews, I mentioned Mississauga & the Toronto area seem to do these dishes better.So overall, I'm disappointed with the food. The restaurant atmosphere was still impressive. Those who like football will feel at home here. And the service was of course pleasant. Had no issues there.Update: I had to downgrade the food review from 3 to 2 stars because a day later it made me very ill.

Place is great but extremely disappointed. I live 45 minutes away and called in advance, arrived at 630 today ( Posted closed @ 8:30) to see they were behind the counter but closed?? 3rd time this has happened!!! Make sure you call, ask if they're staying open for the next hour!!

Maybe I came on a bad day but it was the driest and most flavourless chicken shawarma I have ever had in my life. I don't get sauces as I always want to taste the meat but that was a huge mistake as without the sauces (which I have been told are very good) it was just inedible and i literally threw away most of the dish. Absolutely lovely staff though, super friendly and pleasant to deal with.

Best rice plate ?️? around and there not cheap with there food either it's worth the drive and even have left over for later on yummy in my tummy ?Parking: There is paid parking if you busy on street but if you fast enough getting your order you can be out the door quickly before ticket guy comes along ? lol
Best schwarma in the city, Tammy and Rizgar's little restaurant is a gem in downtown Hamilton. I would eat it everyday if I were able.
