First time visiting Salt Lick and I would highly recommend to anyone! The food was amazing, portion sizes were huge and the service was wonderful!!! We can't wait to come back again next time we visit Hamilton!!!
Disappointing experience overall, our server kept bragging about how big the portions were and he was wrong, one piece of brisket each was disappointing but not so much after I realized how dry and fatty it was, anything fried has zero taste and fried chicken was under cooked (red in the middle) couldn't offer roasted potatoes and corn bread as sides and jerk chicken for meats because they "ran out" which is unbelievable for a restaurant, everything as a whole genuinely lacked flavor, ribs under cooked but still dry somehow, pork nuggets no flavor and extremely fatty and greasy, pulled pork was a sad pile of meat, worst part is the lack of ventilation, you'll leave smelling of smoke and BBQ to the point of having to wash your clothes immediately, leave your jacket in your car or you'll need to have it dry cleaned, and then they hit you with the overpriced bill with the bare minimum tip of 18% (I'm a 20% tipper but should never be forced above 15%) server with the glasses, good guy but needs to relax a bit, was overwhelming maybe do 15mg of Adderall instead of 30

Food is very good I would recommend but not satisfied with pricing. Abit too hefty as I been to many smokehouse restaurants with sharing platters and they offered it for no more than 55to 60 a couple and have many more sides and bigger portions if after to take home.

Server was absolutely fantastic and added a nice flare to this mealFamily style dining where you all must agree on a set list of meats to feast on. Very well priced for the amount of food and flavour packed into this.Pork ribs, pulled pork, fried chicken, and brisket were an absolute knockout. Sides were Mac and cheese with potato’s. Meal was “for 2” but we had more than enough leftovers for EACH of us to take home.
You probably haven't had BBQ this good. I know, you've had some great BBQ, maybe you've even been to that quasi-famous place on the outskirts of "greater Hamilton".This is better.Also, Salt Lick won't cut you off after two beers like you're some sort of child.Speaking of, they also have incredible cocktails here, my wife had something I don't recall the name of, but she gave me a sip and it tasted like pumpkin pie.So if you want amazing food and instagram-worthy drinks but don't want to trek out to the scary part of Hamilton to get Your Pie you should come here.Seriously this food is so next level it's not even the same game. This is the best fried chicken you've ever had. I promise you.And the PORTIONS!I buy groceries, I know what food costs, and I don't think I could've bought the raw meat for the price we paid for this amazing meal.Do not pass this place up - a shining diamond amongst the jewels of James North.
The staff was so pleasant and personable. We went for their crawfish boil and everything was delicious! The food came out fast, the cocktails were fantastic, and the staff made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend!
