It started off horrible.We waited 15 min to be seated mind u they were busy when we got there.However none greated us while we waited.Not a single hello, we'll be with you in a moment nothing.Finally the manager say are we ready to be seated? I said yes" we are we've been standing here for 15min not a single person has acknowledged us. But yes we are ready"Instead of apologizing for himself and his staff he decided to ask me are we going to have a problem? Like are you for real your going too as me that?All a customer wants is to be acknowledged.If he treats his customers this way how does he treat the staff. You shouldn't be working as a manger let alone customer service.You cleary need proper training in bothdepartments.However the food great and our server was top notch. Norris you were amazing thank you for making our night with your excellent customer service and going above and beyond for myself and family. People with your skill is hard to come across in the restaurant industry. You are on point with everything, from being just a super happy person and going above and beyond for your guests I will absolutely remember you and wouldn't have any other way. Keep up the awesome work and keep being you because you're great!!!10plus ? 's for Norris and -0 ? My boyfriend and I decided to try this place out since we had heard great things, our server Hunter made the experience so easy and fun!!! She was efficient, knowledgeable, and welcoming. I would highly recommend visiting The Works!!

After being seated we waited over 15 minutes to even see a server! They were to busy socializing at the front with each other! We just put our coats on and stood up to leave before someone even came up to us. I just find this unacceptable for 115 dollar meal! This isnt the first bad experience we have had at this location! Absolutely love the food just not so much the service! Oh and we didnt even get plates for appetizers or cutlery for our meal even after asking twice ! The brocolli with both our meals had to be returned because it was completely raw not steamed! Overall this experience was a huge let down!

The big issue is one of our burgers was undercooked to the point of being dangerous by Canadian health guide food cooking standards. As such they gave us 50% off on the one meal. Seemed odd to me that we had to pay for a meal my kid couldn’t safely eat…Please see the bright pink burger in the attached pictures. I was debating going for 2 or 3 stars, but given the offending burger was for my 5 year-old child, I felt 2 was appropriate.We were comped an order of doughnuts which were hot and looked very good, but we were all too full to eat any…so we brought them home.Let it be known, the service was very good and friendly. The server checked on us a lot. The rest of the food was good to very good and properly hot, though I did find my poutine a bit salty for my liking, but it did have bacon on it…so…Anyway, the past two times we’ve been underwhelmed, so I’m not sure we’ll be back any time soon if ever. Too bad, cause we use to really enjoy this place.

The service we received was adequate. Not wonderful, not horrible. What is horrible is the policy to include a gratuity, not tell the patron, fold the bill so as to hide the included gratuity and hand it to the patron below the wireless pay terminal, and then ask for a gratuity on the screen as well, leading the patron to believe none is included. I ended up paying a SIGNIFICANT additional gratuity for average service and average food. This tactic to make some extra money at a time when inflation remains high and people are stretched to afford a nice night out, is underhanded and slimy. I hope the onetime gratuity was worth losing a patron of many visits permanently.

Overall, my experience at "The Works" was delightful, and I would highly recommend it to burger enthusiasts seeking a memorable and satisfying dining adventure.
