The level of customer service we received was outstanding! Our original dinner reservation for a dome was canceled due to the overwhelming response of people flocking to the hotel for the eclipse. Needless to say, I wasn't happy, as this was for my hubby's birthday. Kamal, the F&B supervisor was more than accommodating. Even after I sent some not very nice emails, expressing my displeasure. Once I actual read his email and his offer to make things right, I was quick to apologize. I don't want to be a "Karen". I work retail, so know how customers can be. ? When we arrived at the restaurant, he came right over, wished my hubby a happy birthday. I was glad to have the opportunity to apologize in person for my behavior in the emails. He was so understanding. Great personality for the position he holds. Our server, Jasmine was great! Prompt, friendly and apologized for what had happened. Which, she has no control of, I'm sure. Food was outstanding! Burger was one of the best I've had in awhile. The tomato Marmalade made it that much tastier!? Hubby said his fish & chips were delicious! Would definitely go there again.

J'y retournerai

My mother-in-law booked a waterfront stay back in January it is 4 days from her husband's birthday and they called to cancel. I'm extremely not impressed with the last minute cancellation and they only offered complimentary drinks if she decides to come back. We will be booking elsewhere from now on. Don't waste your time with this company.

Lot of misinformation:1- Checking in proceeded and the cards didn’t work in all facilities;2- Breakfast was included on our package, and we were forced to stand in a line to pick up a voucher (why they didn’t give us while checking in?!?!)3- The breakfast time changed on Sunday without further notice…

This is my go to hotel when I travel for work. They are always so accommodating and kind. Very quick to respond to emails and calls as well, which makes my booking process so smooth. It is my home away from home. The location doesn't hurt either, right on the water close to downtown venues, historic sights, and local shops and restaurants.

I came to Kingston for a special occasion to visit my daughter at Queens and was so surprised to find my room decorated, and a complimentary charcuterie board! The staff was so sweet and I was truly touched by their thoughtfulness! Also bonus points for being pet friendly. ❤️ Thanks so much to all at the Holiday Inn Kingston who took the time to make me feel special. It was so appreciated! I will definitely be having a frank discussion with my sister in law about how great my stay was. Thank you!Walkability: Super close to everything downtown and a 15 minute walk to the university.

I went to a school event for my daughter. We came in from out of town and stayed one night. The weather was terrible, but our stay made up for it. We really enjoyed our time. We decided to eat at the restaurant onsite and choose from a special sampler menu. Our meal was great. The atmosphere was great as well. Our server Sophia was fantastic. There were many hockey players there for a tournament so there was some noise, but things were quiet but around 11, it really was not an issue. We also had breakfast onsite and enjoyed the morning buffet. Note the elevators are small as the hotel is older but it certainly has charm. Our room was clean and everything worked fine.Rooms: Dated, but in good shape and clean.

As an international business traveler accustomed to the varied accommodations the world has to offer, my recent visit to Kingston was marked by a stay at a hotel recommended by family, due to its proximity to Queen's University. The purpose of my trip was to visit my nephew, a student there, making the location the primary draw. However, life's experiences, much like a bell curve, have taught me to manage my expectations, and unfortunately, this hotel finds itself on the less favorable side of that curve. The hotel, described to me in terms that perhaps once matched its reality, now presents as seriously dated. It's clear that the luster of yesteryears has dimmed, leaving a shell that harks back to its former glory but fails to deliver in the present. This is not to say that the stay was intolerable; the hotel maintains a level of cleanliness that deserves recognition, and in terms of providing a basic shelter, it fulfills its function. However, the perplexing aspect of this hotel lies in its value proposition. The pricing strategy is ambitious, to say the least, setting expectations for a level of luxury or amenities that simply isn't met. One might argue that location is its saving grace, yet when weighed against the overall experience, it's a thin argument. The charm, if there once was any, has faded, and what's left is a place that struggles to justify its cost.In conversations about accommodations, recommendations carry weight, and they often reflect on the recommender. My stay, based on such a suggestion, has left me questioning the criteria used in making this recommendation. The necessity of a frank discussion with my sister-in-law about her future endorsements is apparent, as this experience fell short of even modest expectations. For fellow travelers, particularly those in the international business sphere, who might consider this hotel, my advice is to temper your expectations. If cleanliness and basic needs are your sole criteria, it may pass muster. However, if you're seeking value for money or a memorable stay, this might not be the property for you. In the vast spectrum of accommodations where I've rested my head, this hotel, unfortunately, resides closer to the forgettable end.The best part of my stay was Cheryl. A many decades server. What a gem. ?

Worst hotel experience I’ve had in Ontario. Extremely loud guests literally running up and down the halls and the front desk refused to do anything. We left at 930pm and drove the six hours home.Noteworthy details: Dismissive hotel staff.

Great hotel and great location. Very clean and quiet as advertised. I have stayed at this hotel several times but mainly alone. This past stay I was with my family of 3 and as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces and a Silver member, I received 1 complimentary breakfast ticket. I was very disappointed that this Holiday Inn would be that cheap and when I brought this to their attention...I was told that is their policy. I recommend that all members of the CAF travelling with family in the Kingston area...please stay at Holiday Inn Express Kingston West! It has all the same amenities but only difference is that during my posting we received a complimentary breakfast for ALL family members...not just 1 for everyday we stayed. Thank you again Kingston West for recognizing my whole family.
