We had hot pot here. It was great! A different dining experience that I would definitely recommend trying. The service was also great.

Great rice bowls, chicken, and sizzling pork. Good Japanese-Korean-Chinese fusion restaurant with friendly staff and very kind manager.

Decent pricing, good service and food tasted quite good. Had a bit of a wait for my order (a small maki tray), which was likely either due to the time of day (I came later in the evening), or the fact that they were reasonably busy with other orders when I placed mine. Didn't mind waiting and the server was very friendly, bringing me a glass of water and checking in on me occasionally until my order was ready. Will definitely be back, and I hope to update to a full 5 stars when I come next

We had an amazing lunch at Hwa-Ki. The food was delicious, and the portions were huge. The bi bim bap was phenomenal--a big, hot bowl of rice, meat and veggies. We sat in a spacious booth and the service was so friendly and attentive. LOVED this place and we will definitely be back!

Amazing service. We had trouble picking and our server made just the right suggestions for us to get exactly what we wanted. They were so kind and patient even though we came right before they were about to close. LOVE LOVE LOVE and would definitely go again

I'm a customer who placed an order via DoorDash worth around $140, and the below photos are what I've received. (To be clear, the sashimi plate I received was intact.) At first, I thought it was the driver who accidentally spilled our soups on his way, but after talking to the acclaimed "manager" of Hwaki restaurant, I was wrong. As a regular customer of Hwaki, I first called the restaurant before calling DoorDash to make sure if this is something that they can assist instead of going through DoorDash (because I was aware that it's easier for customers to get refunds, which is purely expense for restaurant owners). The response I received from the, once again, "manager" of Hwaki, who had asked to send these photos to his personal cell phone yet neglected to look at his phone until I gave him a call, was nothing but silence. Then, I called the restaurant, and guess what? He was mad at me for calling on his personal cell phone. As a customer who just withdrew $140 for a group of 6 people, I'm still waiting for the acclaimed manager who decided to hang up on me and hasn't called back since. Thankfully, I'm a law student at Queen's Law, and I am serving many exec roles, so students at Queen's University will know how unpleasant and unacceptable your acclaimed manager is in delivering after service and taking care of their frustrated customers. Once again, I'm not complaining about the way that Hwaki had delivered their foods (as it may be in part the driver's fault). Rather I'm complaining about their inappropriate and below standard customer service.

Good Food

I hate to say this, but with regards to the Korean cuisine, it is not as good as Podonamu. Anything you order has a Chinese taste to it, even the bibimbaps, but I guess that’s a good thing to me bc it reminds me home. And it takes forever to have my meal. Ps, the price is not fair with regards to the actual quantity provided.
