A very cute, trendy little spot in the heart of Kingston. Beautifully decorated, and the servers are lovely. The cocktails were amazing! The bartender really knows what he's doing. The food is very good. We enjoyed our visit and would definitely go back, if only for the cocktails!Dietary restrictions: They made sure to ask about dietary restrictions and catered to them to the best of their ability.

Two of us came and shared the following:Pork belly boa - tasty and tender. Not very big.Tan tan noodles - savoury and very good depth of flavour (could use some vegetables to round out the dish).Shrimp / pork wontons- they were good but almost too crispy. The sauce was good with a little heat.Chicken karage - we both really enjoyed the flavour and tenderness of the chicken. The sauce with squirt of lemon was delicious.Tiramisu - this was made with tea instead of espresso- it was perfect for one person and had a mellow earl grey type flavour with rich custard like texture. it was very good and not overly sweet. The food was very tasty and beautiful but the portions are small and served tapas style. I would enjoy additional vegetable options/sides.My only complaint is that the servings are small and you have to order a lot to leave full. We probably each could have ordered another dish. We left and my bf asked what he can have for a snack later …We spent about 85$ for two people - just food, no drinks. I would plan to spend about 50$ per person (approx 3 dishes each) just on food to ensure we didn’t leave hungry. The staff was friendly and efficient. It’s busy little place so make a reservation and request a booth. If you go in the winter dress warm because the entrance is direct and brings in a lot of cool air.Overall though, it was a nice experience and the food is delicious.

The best food and best date night! My husband and I love going to Miss Bao! We love sharing a lot of different plates and the price for two is really reasonable compared to a lot of other restaurants now days! I highly recommend coming here :)

I would recommend Miss Bao's for any kind of outing- meeting up with friends, going on a date, or taking your parents out for dinner. Their cocktails are divine and there's something on the menu for everyone, with all of it being absolutely delicious! The staff are fantastic and very helpful, especially with navigating food allergies. They get really busy around 7pm, so if you're going for dinner, make a reservation! It's worth it!Vegetarian options: Their menu specifically showcases which items are vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, with tree nuts, and with shellfish. Their menu is slightly more than half vegetarian/vegan.Dietary restrictions: Their menu specifically showcases which items are vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, with tree nuts, and with shellfish. The staff are also very accommodating, just tell them what you can and can't have and they'll help you!

Miss Bão was by far one of my favouriterestaurants in Kingston while studying at Queen’s. The atmosphere is great, the food is delicious, and the staff are super friendly! Will definitely have to go back when I am visiting Kingston! Highly recommend this place to anyone on the hunt for a quick and easy bite!

Overall, we really enjoyed our dinner and drinks there. There is a good selection of plant-based options. We did feel that their tofu bao could use a little more flavor. The atmosphere is nice, albeit slightly noisy when a full house. We would definitely go back!

Reviews are very misleading. Stopped while driving between Montreal and Toronto with high expectations, left very disappointed.Crispy wonton - nothing special small bites that might have been better steamed. Tasty dipping sauce that likely came from a bottle.Mushroom pate - horrible. Dominate taste was oil. Texture slimy. Fried rice paper oily.Tofu bao - I think they forgot the flavor. Bao bun, fried tofu and a slice of cucumber. Really??Great idea poor execution. Maybe the non-veggie options are better....At least it didn't break the bank.

Service was good but food wasn't the best. Mushroom pate was okay and mushrooms wonton was good. The bao I ordered was cold and not warm/hot at all, had one bite and lost my appetite.

Oh boy, what a great restaurant! Fun cocktails and a fusion of Asian cuisine. No waste philosophy resonates with me as well and I appreciate their efforts in reducing food waste and garbage! I loooove their Karaage chicken bites and the mushroom lentil pate, savoury and unique. Their pork belly Bao are to die for and I recommend sharing the spicy Korean bbq pork. Try it yourself, you won’t regret it!!

I was encouraged to try this place out when I saw the high ratings, but have left utterly confused. The decor is pretty, and it may be a cute place to grab a drink (although we didn’t try out the cocktail menu, so I can’t speak to that), but that’s where my positive review starts and ends.We ordered the chicken satay bao, the tofu bao, the mushroom bao, and the red Thai curry- none which I can recommend. The bao bun itself was not fluffy or pillowy like it should be and the fillings for all 3 lacked flavour. The toppings were sparse and bland, so there were just no redeeming qualities. Then the Thai red curry came, and the disappointment continued. It felt like they mixed maybe 1/4 teaspoon of red Thai curry paste with coconut milk, microwaved (some poorly cooked) minute rice, and served it up. The vegetables it was served with were fine, but that’s about it. We also paid $6 to add Satay chicken to the dish, but again, so bland. There was also a poor rice/veggie/chicken to curry sauce ratio. I’ve been to a few Asian Fusion restaurants before, and have had amazing bao, so I wonder if the positive reviews are from people that haven’t tried these types of food before? Also, at the end of our meal, I used the bathroom at the end of the hallway which was labelled as the accessible washroom. They seem to use this washroom as a storage room. There was a bike blocking the toilet, boxes of miscellaneous items, garbage, and random things in the sink. I made sure to double check the signage when I left to ensure it wasn’t labelled as staff use/ out of order because I was so confused. It wasn’t safe or functional for someone that would need an accessible washroom. All in all, a disappointing experience. I hope they can improve their recipes, because when Asian Fusion is done well, it can be INCREDIBLE!

If you’re looking for something different in Kingston, Miss Bāo is definitely worth a try. The bāo buns are amazing so was our main course. Small but robust menu. I also appreciated that many of the cocktails have non-alcoholic options.
