Tara's is a cute specialty grocery store that offers many unique vegan products. They also have many zero waste/sustainable products as well. A wide and wonderful selection of items, I will definitely be back!

For the past 2 years I have been living in Downtown Kingston and have been shopping each week at Tara's. Every time I have come into the store, I have always been treated like family. Staff members like Vincent and Laura (2 of the 3 that I spoke with most, but that doesn't mean I am excluding anyone else I haven't named personally!) have shown me such kindness. It is abundantly clear that they are absolute gems in every way!! Also, I would be completely remiss if I didn't mention Joanne. She has been the clerk with who I spent the most time getting to know. Let me just say that she is truly such a delightful/wonderful human being. From the moment I walked into the store, she always made me feel like I was at home. She has such a warmth and a caring to her character and from the bottom of my heart I want to say how much I have appreciated all of her kindness! One of my favourite joys was shopping and I could overhear her interactions with other customers. Her positive/loving energy just exudes love and compassion!! I will very much miss her and every one else at your wonderful store, this is truth <3Keep up the great work, and here is wishing you all a wonderfully equanimous day, filled with peace, love, health, happiness, and truly so very much more <3With all the Metta in the cosmos and beyond for you all today, tomorrow, and every single day of your lives,Noah

Many years ago when I was vegetarian, I reached out to Tara Natural Foods about eggs. Specifically, to ask if they had free range local "happy" eggs. The response I got was very curt, and in hindsight I realize how ridiculous my question was. And while at the time I was taken aback by the pointed response I received, I have come to love this place because it carries many of the random products I need that are difficult to get anywhere else. For example, black salt. Going vegan was easy for me in most respects having been vegetarian for the majority of my life, but eggs were the one thing I missed. Nowadays black salt, chickpea flour and a variety of other spices have more than filled the void I felt for omelettes back then. Overall, some of the specialty items are pricey, but I imagine them to be commensurate with the rent in their location. Overall, have been and will go again as long as I live here.

Great place to shop for fresh local produce and foods, bulk foods, and vitamins in Kingston. Staff are super helpful and welcoming! Grateful to have a shop like this in Kingston.Please note that this store takes COVID-19 protocols seriously (which I really appreciate!).
Tara Natural Foods is a beautiful downtown space filled with excellent healthy food options and a great staff. I've shopped here for decades, and won't stop. The variety and choice of foods both fresh and bulk is inspiring. And the owner is thoughtful and fine person.

A friend of mine had a horrible experience at this store. She was treated incredibly rude by an employee (would not acknowledge her presence or her asking for help) and when discussing the issue with the manager, she attempted to gaslight my friend by telling her it could not have happened. She claimed she knew the worker and they would never act like that. She completely invalidated my friends experience. Would not recommend this store. Would give zero stars if possible due to the customer service.
