We stopped in for lunch today after a long absence. The Chef's Table is one of those places that falls off of our radar, but shouldn't. Especially given the price, it's some of the best food in town; it's classic and imaginative, all at once, and the atmosphere of the venue is very nice. We had the coq au vin (with a garlic polenta--nice touch!), an endive salad, where it was slightly and nicely grilled, the beer-battered shrimp, and a not-too-sweet lime tart (the pisco sour was good, although not quite foamy enough). We'll definitely be back.As others have noted, the service is friendly and enthusiastic. I guess it's a sign of the times and not just of The Chef's Table, but it can be obtrusive for all that: we got interrupted all the time with questions, or announcements that the server would be bringing out this or that. Nothing close to keeping us from coming back. But getting a read of the table would turn a good experience into an excellent one.

We went here for Londonlicious and it was fantastic. Since it is run by Fanshawe students in the food and beverage program, the service was a bit slow but still very good. The food being cooked by students in the culinary program was great and portions were really big. I would highly recommend.

The food was very good. We went as a large group and the servers were still working on how to do that, but they were very friendly. Will definitely go back.

Went to the Chef's table for lunch during Londonlicious. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. They brought water and made sure the glasses were full the entire meal. I ordered a pint of London Brewing beer, Caesar salad, Butchers burger with fries and carrot cake for dessert. Caesar salad was great, had a nice house made dressing, generous amounts of bacon and petals of parm cheese plus house made croutons. The burger had a lot of flavour, lots of toppings and the onion rings were a nice addition. They brought out the condiments in a unique way, haven't seen anyone else in London serve them in their style dishes (usually bottles at the tables or little stainless steel bowls). The portion of fries was also very generous. Ended up taking the carrot cake to go because I was too full. Overall the meal was an exceptional value for $25. The regular menu prices are also very reasonable. Its also nice that the profits from the restaurant go back to the students to fund graduation etc.. I would recommend the Chef's Table and look forward to returning.

This was our first visit, and definitely won't be our last.We dropped in on a Monday for lunch. The restaurant was very quiet and we had our pick of tables. Our server Khalid was excellent. We each ordered an appetizer and a main course, and started off with amazing (and complimentary) focaccia with herb butter while we enjoyed a signature cocktail. Our apps were a poached pear salad with baby kale, and adobo chicken lumpia (a Filipino spring roll). Our mains were mushroom arancini, and a five-cheese mac & cheese with asparagus and king oyster mushrooms. The lumpia and the mac & cheese were both daily specials, and all our dishes were superb. All the courses were generous, beautifully-presented, and reasonably-priced. Without the cocktails we would have been well under $30 pp before taxes and gratuity. The restaurant is attractive, with plenty of spacing between tables. Windows look out over Dundas Street (never the same spectacle twice), and there's also a great view into the kitchen to watch the chefs and cooks doing their thing.A parking tip - Museum London is a short walk away, and is closed on Monday and Tuesday, so there's plenty of free parking available in their lot if you use the Honk app with the CORE promo code.Call ahead to be sure the restaurant isn't closed for a private function, but this is definitely a place we'll visit again soon.Dietary restrictions: No problem accommodating food allergies.

Excellent meal. Culinary schools are always a great place for a good meal. We will be back.

I went with a friend during the Londonlicious event and had a 3 course meal starting with the soup of the day.The soup that day was parsnip, pear and beetroot. It was rather sweet but appetizing. It worked very well with the spiced bread provided, as it moistened it while reducing the overwhelming spice flavours. The main course was a chicken with a tangy and very umami sauce. The meat was tender and moist when dipped in the sauce. The skin of the chicken was the perfect texture and had an almost sweet flavour to it. Underneath it was a carrot lasagna, sweet, earthy and cheesy. The desert was the carrot cake, where I believe they cut a fifth of a fresh cake out. It was moist and the icing was not overwhelming. There was caramel on the side, which added any missing sweetness to the dish. The waiter were friendly and always checking in on us. The chefs always had the food prepared at the right time, and it was only $70 a person.

Very much enjoyed my first visit to The Chef's Table. The service was a delight, best classic Negroni cocktail I have ever had, and dinner was excellent from starter to dessert. Will definitely be back.
