This is our favourite Chinese restaurant for many years. The food is always great and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Always a very positive experience. The decorating is a bit dated but the food amazing. I highly recommend them.
I have told all my friends if you want real good Chinese food Pearl House is the best I have ever had. I've been to Golden Palace, Yangtze, and others and always go back to Pearl House my favorite, try it you'll love

Best Chinese food I’ve had in Ottawa! My group and I dined in at the restaurant and ordered the family dinner for four. Let me tell you…the portions were AMAZING, the food tastes AMAZING and wasn’t not dry at all. Also best wonton soup, fried rice and chicken balls I’ve had. Also, the restaurant decor is so beautiful, I wondered why more people don’t dine in here!?

We ordered yesterday Feb.29/2024. While the service was good, this was the second consecutive time have had several sharp bone fragments in our fried rice. I no longer feel safe feeding this food to my family. I don’t want them to have a bone fragment perforate their gums or worse yet, their esophagus or colon.Our last order, we ordered two combo platters 9 and one small soup. They placed the soup at the bottom of the bag and the platters on top. The sheer weight of the two platters combined w the heat crushed the soup container and it leaked all over my car seat. The bag it was contained in was stapled so tight that the contents couldn’t have shifted from top to bottom. When they were called about it, they blamed me saying I threw the bag in my car and I was to blame.I didn’t bother calling about the repeated bone fragments. They seem uncaring.

The food is amazingly well prepared, I've eaten about half the items on the menu over my visits to this location and not one dish has had any greasy aftertaste or texture. The seasoning is spot on allowing the ingredients to show their full flavor.

The Pearl House was excellent 20 years ago and still is. We haven't been for about 10-15 as we do not live close by. Today, tuesday, April 4th we were in Manotick and checked the website too see if there were open. In fact, they are open for in room dining and take-out. Only one lady taking the orders on the phone; taking payments for those orders; taking the order into the kitchen; bringing the food out; taking orders in-house, serving and clearing. She was polite, kind and very accommodating for my allergy. The spring rolls were large and tasty. Excellent food, caters to allergies, homemade fresh. Definitely worth the spot!
