***NOT HALAL***Please remove the halal food sign and make it clear that alcohol is served within the restaurant. It is impermissible for a muslim to eat from an establishment that serves alcohol.Muslims that are not as devoted will obviously still eat here. However, it would be considered false advertising to those who follow the rules. Thus make it clear in your signage, your menu, and your website that alcohol is served here. If that is made clear it is up the person to decide if they would continue to eat from your establishment.

Let me paint you a picture of my dining experience at Appa's Original. Picture this: the aroma of tantalizing spices filling the air, the cozy ambiance inviting you in for a culinary adventure. Now, onto the food - those rolls are simply divine! I highly recommend trying their deviled rolls; they're a flavor explosion. And don't even get me started on their mango pudding - it's heavenly! Sure, it's a bit pricier than your average takeout joint, but trust me, it's worth every penny. Plus, they offer dishes you won't find anywhere else, adding that extra touch of exclusivity to the experience. So, if you're craving authentic Sri Lankan Tamil cuisine. You won't be disappointed!

UPDATED AFTER ONWER REPLIEDTerrible food. They need to do better. Nothing original nor any passion for their food. Very disappointed, very shocked with all the 5 star reviews!*update*:I am pleasantly surprised the owner replied. PASSION STILL THERE THEN! i will change my review once the food tastes better and there is structure in place for dining and takeout. What I would love to see is Appas becoming the first Tamil Franchise!!!1. Make sure all your rolls and anything else is 100% Fresh - max 30 mins sitting time2. Kothu has to be more flavourful, it was just too dry3. Get creative and make a unique item that's exclusive for Appas only!Good Luck and PLAN PLAN PLAN!

Most of the menu was "not available".Had a vegetarian lunch. About 50 cents worth of the cheapest vegetable "curry" dal, beets and like three cubes of eggplant. Mostly rice. Not great.

The lamprais was really good. It had all. Chicken, mutton, fish, anchovies, egg and enough for 2.

I drove from Brantford for this place. I make sure to stop here every time I'm out in the area. The food and service is fantastic.

Recommend the cheesy mutton rolls. Its such a unique twist on the traditional mutton roll and elevates the flavour.

I bought two lumprise (banana leaf wrapped )from this place yesterday, chicken and mutton. The food was horrible and we ended up with stomach cramps. I believe cutlets were fired at least three times, they were so dark - black. The boiled eggs were blue. They had anchovies, which were fired beyond eating. The eggplant curry was too old. I will not recommend this place to anyone. If you are doing takeout open the container in front of them for them to see what they are serving for their customers.

We ordered 4 types of kothu, we had them to go & the food tasted great & fresh when we got home 40 mins later. The veggie kothu was decent, but the jerk & pulowees were exceptional. Loved the sea food kothu here as well which came with generous portions of crab, shrimp & squid. The owner was very friendly & you can tell they do not cheap out on the ingredients. Everything was flavoured very differently & were true to their names. They were very large portions & we’ll def be returning for more. The spicy level was extremely spicy as we asked for spicy, we loved it but just be aware that when you ask for spicy, you get spicy! Can’t wait to try their lamprais next.
