The pastries are no longer flaky and crispy. Not that fresh anymore. I think they changed their recipe because everything tasted buttery before but not anymore. Maybe they use less butter and substitute with something else.

Since this review is for bake code I will give a high high rating (chatime on the other hand is a totally different star rating) The croissants are some of the best I have had, not the best of the best, but it's very good, nice and crispy on the outside, a bit soft on the inside, nice fillings. Lots of flavours to choose from. The buns are pretty special and good, but pass on the cookies! I also like the cakes they have, and especially since they open late (11:00pm) perfect when you are craving for something sweet/cake at night. The tofu cheesecake and Millie cakes are really good!

Chatime is one of my favourite boba chain because of their [Roasted Grassjelly Milk Tea] so I really wanted to like Bake Code. The first thing I noticed with Bake Code was the price, most of their buns are $4+ and if you're familiar with Markham & Richmond Hill, you would know there's no shortage of Chinese bun shops around. You can get delicious buns for around $2. My first time question to myself was, why are Bake Codes buns so expensive? Is it worth the price? Over the years I have tried the following buns/pastries (see below) and I have to say, the buns are not worth the price. I decided to give them 3/5 because they are good but there are better options for less elsewhere. [Red Velvet Cookie] $3.50 for a small cookie that tasted like an average cookie. Very disappointing. [Pb&J Croissants] $4.5 these are more decently priced as they are bigger than Hazukido, but not as buttery and flakey. I find Bake Codes to be a bit more crispy and not as flakey. [Vietnamese Coffee Croissants] $4.5 this one was really good, as I really enjoyed the light Vietnamese coffee flavour, like I mentioned above it's not as buttery and flakey though. [Sausage Bun] For $4 something this was really not worth as it wasn't anything outstanding. Especially since most places offer sausage buns for only $2 or so. [Red Velvet Cake & Japanese Strawberry Cake] another average cake slice, nothing special that made them stand out.

Love cheese tarts

Love the salted egg croissant and the ufo coffee bun. But the Markham location doesn't have a lot of the special items until later in the afternoon.

I normally love Bake Code buns but today I ordered an Oreo Cream bun through this location on UberEats and it had literal pieces of WOOD in the bun. I was sharing the bun with a friend and she thankfully didn't swallow any. I don't understand how something like this could be overlooked so carelessly especially when it could cause dangerous choking hazard or damage the esophagus when swallowing. Very disappointing... To other customers who often order here, I'd suggest going to a different bakery or location. God forbid this have been fed to a child..

Got a cake like this, The strawberries are starting to go rotten.

Good bakery but slightly overpriced and those sausage buns are a bit too greasy. The roll cakes are very good, particularly the sesame roll cake. Bubble tea are your typical bubble tea, tastes good.

Recently made another trip to this Bake Code -- a Euro-Asian bakery chain in Markham -- when grabbing bubble tea from Chatime for my family. This is a cozy hybrid between the two stores in a plaza of different food places and T&T. While Chatime has always been a reliable choice for me, I have noticed a lot of variation in Bake Code over these past few years in terms of both pricing and quality of pastries. I remember the first time I came, I absolutely fell in love with their filled croissants. My family and I have tried the salted egg, matcha, roasted milk tea, and double-baked almond croissants and they've always been delicious which helps me swallow the premium ($5.50 each!) I'm paying for them. However, this time (wanting to try new options) we also got the salted egg yolk pineapple bun and taro mini loaf to share. Both were extremely dry and unsatisfying compared to the croissants. There was barely any salted egg yolk in the bun and the loaf lacked flavor despite its rich purple color. Perhaps their specialty lies purely in their croissants -- will stick to those only next time!

My ideal type of bakery shop! Nicely packed baked goods and looks fresh! Must try their crepe cakes!

Super customizable drinks, get green tea, add lychee, less sugar less ice, for a super refreshing beverage.

Pretty good. I love their bubble teas and pastries. I tried the cheesecakes, all of them and was not a fan of them.

Cute little bakery selling a nice variety of tasty items. It is a little pricey, but the items are unique and fresh. It was a nice treat. It is a busy cafe. Thanks

I love coming to Bake Code because the store is like a 2-in-1 destination where I can get some nice cakes and pastries while grabbing a drink from Chatime. My favourite things from Bake Code are the flaky croissants, the mille crepe cakes, and the Japanese cheese tarts. Many of their desserts are made fresh at the store every day and you can get a glimpse into the kitchen at the back. The quality of their Chatime drinks are consistent with regular Chatime stores as well and I think the menu is the same too. The prices are kind of high at Bake Code, but they do have special offers like the monthly specials and bulk purchases where you can get a box of croissants for $25.

Ordered boba cake on door dash, got no boba. Ordered a slush with it and it has many chunks of ice. Not sure what happened to the quality since I'm a chatime elite member, but this really disappoints me.
