I watched the waiter add water to the corn juice. When I finally drank it, I felt like I begged for a smaller amount, because drinking corn juice really felt like drinking water. The fish I ordered was full of spines and there were no complete fish pieces. I even took a look at the live fish before serving it, but it turned into minced fish in the blink of an eye. The taste is also very bland, and it's hard to evaluate what I spent the last more than 100 yuan on. It’s not about how it compares to my grandma’s house in China, but whether it can be compared. I went in happily wanting to experience the quality of domestic food, but I didn't expect that after eating, I wanted to go back to my country. In a sense, it has accomplished the feat of making diners patriotic.

Worst experience ever!!!!The food quality and portion is unacceptable. No services provided but the server grabbed the card machine to force the customers paying tips. The server switch the light before we finished the meal at 9 which is much earlier than the close time. He claimed that he was busy at tidying up for the closure and resulted to no time to serve us.

This restaurant has been around for 4 years and I wish I had tried it out earlier to enjoy all the great food. There aren't many good quality shanghai food in Toronto and this definitley hits the mark. For those who don't know what to order or where to begin, I suggest starting with dishes that the restaurant recommends. They are all authentic and tastes amazing. The portion size is decent and a bit on the pricier side, but you are getting good quality and service in return.Their sweet sour pork tenderloin is a must try (but it's not the typical kind you get in restaurants). The way it's made is much more refine. Simple dishes such as Longjing stir fried shrimp, steamed egg with dried shrimp, pork belly stew are good enough reasons why one would want to go back. I would definitely go back to try other dishes. The same menu is served throughout the day, from lunch to dinner. They also have a wall of fame where many celebrities have tried and complimented the chef at previous locations. Enjoy!

food is just so-so, definitely does not taste the same as the original locations in china.service is decent - no complaints there. but i will not visit here again, and will not recommend this place to any of my friends and family. why? this place refuses to take credit cards! this is simply ridiculous, and very bad business decision for an upscale restaurant like this - or at least what they try to be - to only accept cash and canadian debit card.suggestion for management to consider: get with the times. take cashless payment. you can offer a 3% discount to cash and debit card customers.ask yourself: would you rather lose a customer or take 3% off your revenue?

I really enjoyed the restaurant in both of my visits; the food came fast, tasted good, quality ingredients, and the servers were quite helpful in both visits.

I and my brother went out for dinner. The food was decent a little on a higher price but the taste was good, except for the rice ball soup, it was bland that we needed to ask for sugar. The bad thing is the service. The waitress didn't serve us well and asked for tips when we already left the restaurant. The whole she was just standing and looked unwelcoming. She didn't even serve us a cup of water when we came in.To my knowledge "Tips Are Complimentary" to the good service. Can't believe she ran after us for tips.

Love this place. Authentic Shanghai dishes! We ordered long Jin shrimp, squirrel fish, steamed eggs…all are delicious and my kids love these too! The dishes are at a fair price rate and the waitress is very friendly. Love the place!
