Wow! What a fantastic food experience! Kui is an intimate space offering elevated Japanese food, we have visited twice since our first time! The service presentation and food was exquisite. We will be back!

I walked by and randomly decided to order take out from this restaurant and it was the best decision I made today! The front desk person was so helpful and friendly in assisting in my order. The food was very well packaged and was made quickly to order. By the time I arrived home - the food was still hot and super delicious! I’m excited to come back with friends for dine in. Especially after this very wonderful experience ordering take out - I can only imagine how great their dine in service will be!

Our first time for our son's 16th birthday. We were welcomed with a sweet birthday card on the table. He was so happy. Great experience. We will be back!!

When we went to the place at night, the staff was slow, and we had to call them. The atmosphere was horrible since the sushi chef dragged the garbage bag in front of us, which was so unclean. The Udon that was ordered was super salty. I felt like it was not worth the price, and I was disgusted by the cleanliness.

My fiance and I had a really lovely lunch at Kiu, it was to celebrate our anniversary and early Valentine’s Day. Kiu’s staff went above and beyond to make this lunch special for us by providing Prosecco on the house and a hand written card (so sweet!) We got the meal set for 2 and it came with fresh sashimi chefs choice, sushi and udon. The food was amazing and the staff were so friendly. We are lactose intolerant and the dessert was ice cream so we asked if there were any alternatives. We received the watashi cake set and it was the most cutest dessert filled with yummy red bean filling and chewy mochi. 10/10 - chefs kiss for the entire experience. We had an amazing time and will definitely come back!

Always passed by this place but never went inside. Today I decided it was about time to try it out. Ladies and gentlemen it is a bombastic restaurant. Literally everything is fire. The service, decor, and most importantly the customer service. Ordered a few dishes from the menu and everything tasted like Kyoto. I felt like godzilla mashing down the karage, torched sushi, rice bowl, and that God sent Strawberry parfait.. Skip the gym and eat here. Thank you for having me and my wife today.

This place seems to build high expectations due to its fantastic interior, classy ambiance, and somewhat higher prices, as most reviews suggest. I want to give a shout-out to the head chef here, along with all the mentioned aspects. He's skilled, professional, and brings out amazing recipes with seasonal ingredients. His long-honed expertise and rich experience shine through in the food. It's a go-to spot for me, and I always bring loved ones when they visit.

Worse place ever! The sushi is gross, the quality of meat is terrible. ordered the Kalbi, had to throw the whole plate away. Also for the price I would recommend elsewhere. There was one pictiular guy who was a fuking jerk. coming to our table and saying WHAT DO YOU WANT, when asking for napkins saying OKAY NAPKINS in a rude way. I really don't know how management runs this place. I spent over $500 that night and thank God I chr ked the bill, they tried to over charge me. LEFT ZERO TIP. Save your money n go elsewhere. I have eaten at over 50 sushi places and this is by far the worse. The other servers were really nice. THE FEMALE MANAGER when I told her how dissatisfied I was she didn't apologize and kept questioning me. Thanks for ruining my family gathering dinner. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I recently visited Kiu which the location and environment presents itself as a high-end Japanese dining experience. Regrettably, both the service and the food quality did not meet the expected standards at all for such a price point. Comparable Japanese restaurants nearby offer way better quality and portions at a more reasonable cost, suggesting that 3/4 of the price at Kiu food is charged to the ambiance rather than the food and service. My family chose Kiu for a celebratory dinner, having previously dined there for lunch a few months earlier. On this occasion, the restaurant was only half full, yet the service was notably poor and inefficient. For instance:There was a noticeable delay and lack of attention when we requested a fork for my son since he couldn't use chopsticks. Despite asking two waiters, I eventually had to approach another staff member directly. Two of our orders, Beef Tataki and Salmon Maki, were forgotten. After inquiring multiple times and waiting for over 20 minutes, we asked to cancel these dishes due to the lengthy delay. Surprisingly, they were then promptly served as they were ready in the kitchen but not delivered to our table. Additionally, the Beef Tataki had an unusual sour taste, and when I mentioned this while paying, my feedback was met with an eye roll and dismissive attitude. While I am usually generous with tips, reflecting the quality of food and service, I limited my tips to 10% on this occasion, feeling even this was generous under the circumstances. Unfortunately, this seemed to offend the staff, as evidenced by her reaction.I believe that for Kiu to truly embody the high-end dining experience it advertises, yet significant improvements in both food quality and service are required.

Delicious food, nice atmosphere, great service. Located inside the Markham VIP complex (beside the GoodLife). Fish tasted fresh and portions were decent, can be on the pricier side but honestly, seems on par with what you're getting.
