A few weeks ago, I was saddened to know that their Midland location was closed. I have been a big big fan of their Xiao Long Bao (esp. Crabmeat) since pre-pandemic time. Even during the pandemic restriction time, I went there every month to purchase their frozen Crab XLBs, driving from Durham region - until it closed. I have visited over 80 places that serve XLB and concluded that their Crab XLB was the best in GTA. Can you imagine how shocked I was? Thank goodness - I learned that this HWY7 location is still running. I visited here today, hoping to meet with my favorite Crab XLBs. I wanted to purchase some frozen as well. But... When I sat down at the table and opened the menu - I saw "Crab XLB" crossed out from the menu. The server explained that they had discontinued Crab XLB. I almost stood up and leave, but I found the "Rainbow XLBs" which included a piece of Crab XLB. This Rainbow XLBs consists of Crab, Shrimp, Egg York, Scallop, Chilli Pork, and regular Pork. I decided to try this. To be honest, the quality was not the same. The wrappers were thicker, which made me assume that they are steamed from frozen. Some of the wrappers arrived torn and we could not enjoy the soup. I questioned Yellow XLB (egg yolk) - which has salted hard-boiled egg yolk inside. The egg yolk's texture was so crumbly/dry that I had a hard time swallowing it. I wished there was more of the savory broth. Other XLBs were just OK, some of the XLBs came with the wrappers' top open, which was disappointing to see. Yet, there are so many other dumplings to try. I had #A25, pan-fried pork & cabbage dumplings. When I bit into it, the juice exploded and the hot soup almost flew into my partner's (sitting on the opposite side of the table) face. LOL. Very tasty :). I do not know why they gave up making the Crab XLB and stopped putting more effort into XLBs. I felt that this place is no longer my XLB place anymore. But other dumplings are worth exploring "if I happen to be in the area". It is so sad that the original quality of XLBs is gone.

Came here multiple times for their beef and green onion pancake and cold sesame noodles, along with some boiled chive dumplings. Very good tasting. Easy and convenient. Location is new and lots of seating.

This was a favorite takeout spot that we used during the height of the pandemic and once we felt comfortable enough for in-person dining, it became part of our regular rotation.Dumpling King is well spaced out. The tables aren't crowded like you'd find at some Chinese restaurants. The wait staff are friendly and polite. The food here is good. Let's not kid ourselves -- dumplings are easy to make, so I'm not splitting hairs here. There is a great number of variety of fillings you can choose, and you can also choose between boiled, steamed, or pan fried. (If it doesn't specify, it's boiled.) Although this is a dumpling place, their other cooked foods are also quite good. We've seen people ordering hot plates or hot pot plates. We saw several guests have an entire meal without any dumplings. I'll just list things that we basically order every time:- A16 Steamed Lamb Dumplings- A23 Pan Fried Leek & Pork Pot-Stickers- B6 Pan Fried Pancake w/ Green Onions- G2 Lamb w/ Cumin Spices- L6 Green Beans Sauteed w/ Dried Shrimp & Minced PorkOverall this is a place I can recommend and the portions are pretty good for today's restaurant prices. We will be coming back here again and again.

Loved the food! Lamb dumplings and beef w/ radish dumplings were excellent! They didn’t have chicken noodles on the menu, so asked them to replace pork with chicken in the stir fried noodles - fantastic taste, had a smoky smell from the wok- loved it! Spicy beef was nice as well, had a good balance of salty and spices. Friendly service people, who accommodated our preferences on request. Will definitely go back again.

Home style dumplings available here, very traditional and well made. Delicious but a little on the pricier end. Service was quick and friendly!

Good price for some homey dumplings, stir fry, noodles and rice.Decent portion per dishes, a bit smaller than average Canton dishes.Taste was okay but nothing too wow.Overall I'll come back to try other things.Spacious, clean and good service.Make sure you park on their side of the parking lot, they may ticket you if you park on Congee Queen side.

Dumpling is fresh and juicy, tastes great. Marinated duck not too salty. Hot and sour soup just right taste. Would try other types of dumplings next time.

Very good tasting authentic Chinese regional cuisine. Delicious dumplings and dishes. Tasted fresh and service was good. Late hours are great for people who work late just wanting a hot meal. Reasonable pricing

This is one of my favourite places for dumplings in the GTA. The Dumpling King is "king" when it comes to the variety of dumplings they offer, including for those who don't eat meat (pescetarians, vegetarians, and vegans). There are lots of dumpling choices with tofu, vegetables (ranging from zucchini and leeks to cabbage and carrots), and eggs (unlike some other dumpling places that only offer 1-2 varieties of veg options). Their variety of non-dumpling dishes (both mains and appetizers) is also larger and closer to the menu selection in other Chinese dumplings that don't specialize in dumplings. I enjoyed everything that we ordered, with my favourites being the Steamed Mixed Vegetables Dumplings (filled with tofu) and Sautéed Egg White and Fish with Broccoli (tasted clean and healthy). The Boiled Fish and Leek Dumplings tasted sort of similar to the Cuttlefish Ink Dumplings. I liked the Steamed Leek, Egg, and Dried Shrimp Dumplings too because the content was heavy on leeks & chives (there were barely any dried shrimps, but I didn't mind since I like the leeks & chives more). You can watch the dumplings being made at the back through a glass window. You can also order frozen dumplings for to go. In addition to dumplings, the menu also contains various appetizers (such as tofu with century-old egg), soups, fried rice, and various vegetable dishes (the Sautéed Cabbage with Wood Ear Mushrooms was decent). Lots of variety in general. The interior feels very spacious, clean, bright, and modern. There is free WiFi available. All the tables are quite big and spaced far apart which make for a comfortable seating experience. The interior decorations are pretty nice too. There are big dumpling-related posters / photographs along one of the walls, and don't forget to look up at the ceiling. There are upside-down steamers of different sizes glued onto the ceiling! Very cool. Service is fast and friendly.

It was alright... Prices were a bit steeper than our usual dumpling spot, but the food was fresh and hot

Doesn't look like much when you drive past it. The decor and signage outside is very typical of an outdated Chinese restaurant. The service is very mediocre, the staff attitude isn't very happy nor pleasant. But the food is very good. I've been coming here for my fix of vegan dumplings for a while and it is certainly my favourite spot for them. Nowhere does it better than them. I always order 2 orders of A28 Steamed Mixed Vegetable dumplings as well as a couple bags of frozen ones to take home. The dumplings are visually half green and half beige which was aesthetically pleasing. There is a huge selection of other dumplings and other food items on the menu which I've tried once but always end up ordering these dumplings. My friends all love it when I order from this place. The quality is consistent and the prices is average. I'd recommend you to try my fave item on the menu!

Terrible food, terrible service. Definitely not going back. It was a cold day, just ordered some fried pan bao and steamed bao. First of all, the fried pan bao is like from yesterday leftover, waited for 10 mins, not even hot. It is the worst fried pan bao I have ever tasted. It costs even 8.99 plus tax, total robbery. Everything is expensive, didn't try other dishes, don't want to bother any more. The 1 star is for the steamed bao, hot just steamed at least.

The dumplings were a bit disappointing. A bit bland and did not stand out at all. The other two dishes were good. Price is on the high end.
