A very different experience from our usual restaurants. This is fine dining, food is very good, service is outstanding.

You can never go wrong with Portuguese food! Solid portion sizes and delectable meals, I had the stuffed chicken and it was quite delicious!

Service was awful. Spent almost 3 hours for a two course meal, with the majority of that time trying to find the server to order and pay the bill.

Notwithstanding previous unpleasant experience with food (bacalhau a leao d’ouro) I specifically discussed with the waiter and said ‘ if the cod cut is the tail let me know and I’ll get something else as I don’t want another plate of fish bones. He guaranteed speaking with the chef and will get a center cut. Surprise (or many not..,) another disgusting and embarrassing piece of cod (tail) full of bones and hardly any fish. When called to verify the waiter went to the kitchen and all you could see was arms gesturing in a less than happy manner. Which, leads me to conclude, not only are you incompetent in the quality of food you serve still want to be right about it. Unbelievable. The waiter came back apologetically and indicated that that’s all the cod they have…so, pick something else if you want. At his suggestion I got grouper (no way…dense and dry fish; anyway, I played along and got on with my life.Btw…at our table (of 14 guests) we also had many other complaints about the quality and temperature of other dishes. Including appetizers such as coconut shrimp (cold and soggy…previously cooked quite evidently); sardines were just mush and nasty; piri piri shrimp…cold, bitter and super small…again, no pride on quality or taste. I could go on…but you get the point. After being away from this place for several years due to service, I recently made three attempts again to support our entrepreneurs…but nothing changes. Therefore, I will never go back or recommend to any of my family and friends as I’ve done in the past.To everyone else, you can try and hopefully have a better experience; albeit, perhaps better off not running the risk of disappointment and go elsewhere. Entertainment dollars are hard earned and should be spent to give pleasure, satisfaction and happiness. Not eat garbage and feel frustrated by the complacency demonstrated by Leao d’Ouro.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Portuguese Seafood Restaurant Leao d'Ouro in Mississauga, and it was an exceptional experience. The food was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of fresh seafood options that left us wanting more. The ambiance of the restaurant was very cozy, perfect for either a romantic date night or a family gathering. One of the highlights of our evening was the seafood platter for four. Not only was it excellently prepared, but it also looked stunning, with a beautiful arrangement of various seafood delicacies. Each bite was bursting with freshness, truly a treat for the taste buds. However, my only suggestion for improvement would be for the management to specify the size and price of the seafood platter on the menu. While the quality of the dish was unquestionable, it would have been helpful to know what to expect in terms of portion size and cost beforehand.Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for great food, cozy ambiance, and awesome service. It's definitely worth a visit, whether you're planning a special date night or a memorable family gathering.

Recommended by backpacker but disappointed. little choice at 8 p.m. already no more cod dish, sloppy service without any attention. Expensive for the menu compared to other restaurants. Too bad because the setting is typical but cold.

I’ve been to this restaurant two times, my partner three times. The first and most important issue is that, due to a lack of visible sign, you’re bound to miss this place when driving on Dundas St. toward East. There are two roads next to each other, and if you’re using GPS like me and my partner, you either take the wrong road—too early—or pass it by—too late. The other issue is the food and the menu. There are simply no vegetarian or vegan options, and you’ll have to try to make a mishmash of several recipes or leave it to the servers and the cook to prepare something for you. The regular menu options are either bland or not cooked properly.I tried the grilled calamari in a white wine and lemon sauce—which had no taste—and the pan seared skate tasted and smelled like ammonia. Now, I’ve had Portuguese cuisine before, and it’s never been tasteless, and I don’t think the ammonia is part of the way of cooking the Skate dish.Vegetarian options: Does not exist.Dietary restrictions: Considering the fact that there are no vegetarian and vegan dishes, I wouldn’t think that is taken into consideration.

Ordered on Uber Eats T bone steak. I literally did the exact same order again, and it was just as good as the first time. Extremely flavorful steak. The cook knows what he's doing. Thank you!

Visited for the first time Leao d'Ouro for lunch on Saturday and was highly impressed in every way. The grilled calamari were juicy and tender, a robalo grelhado to perfection, a fresh and tasty tomato salad with delicious sweet onions and olive oil and a Nata de Ceu with a short espresso to finish. The service was exceptionally friendly, professional and with a genuine smile. Leao d'Ouro offers a great Portugeuse experience right in Mississauga. Thumbs up to the team.
