The ice kacang had very coarse ice but the taste was authentic. There were quite a lot of attap seeds

Quality and taste of the food was amazing! We ordered the classic Hainanese chicken rice, chicken and beef satay, and char kuey teow. The Hainanese chicken was particularly good, although the broth was too salty. I will definitely be back to try other dishes!Dish portions were relatively smaller compared to other Asian restaurants.

Skate fish - so so. Good for experience but taste 4/5. Too dry. Everything else was amazing. The Malaysian rice and mango salad - delicious. Everything is clean. The service is great. Very polite and attentive waiters. This is a place to go and eat legit Singaporean food. The taste is nothing we have tried before. Long drive but totally worth it. If your taste buds want something unique - come and try! Recommend 100%

Haven’t been here for a while since COVID but I am happy to see the new renovations and happy that the quality and portions are still great! The new western female server was very friendly and had amazing service throughout!Hokkien mee was very good with big portions but the sauce was a little watery and could be a little tastier but all in all was very tasty and I finished every bite of my hokkien mee!I also had the bak kut teh which was very tasty and the meat was very tender and the soft bone was perfect! All in all, amazing and glad to have a touch of home in Ontario

Very authentic Singaporean cuisine, double confirmed! ??Travelled 50mins, snowstorm, for their Most Popular (our favourite Hainanese chicken, satay, hokkien mew) esp. Laksa, perfect for chilly weather.

Yummy food. The satay is absolutely delicious and a must get, loved the flavour and the peanut sauce was incredible.I got the Laksa as well, and it was a bit too mild in flavour for me/lacking salt and the noodles were over cooked. Especially after the deeply flavoured satay.I added their in house made sambal and green chili and it kicked it up a notch. (Pro tip)I’ve been to Singapore / Malaysia and the food there is unreal. I was missing the flavours and Lion City delivered. I will come back to try more.

Was in the area decided to drop by for lunch, it was easy to find parking and there was no wait for lunch at noon when it opened, we got the Mee Goreng $17.90 the taste was not what I was accustom to maybe it was too authentic did like it so much also the portion are not that big for the price point, the Hainanese Chicken $17.90 on the other hand tasted on point boneless chicken was tender and juicy and I totally recommend. The service fell a little short maybe they were short staffed.

The place is very clean. The waitress are friendly. They clean the table and the chair very clean after customers. We ordered two type of menus, one of them is hokian mee. Each menu price is $15.00However, if you need sambal or chilli sauce, the price is $0.60They only accept cash or debit. If you want to pay with credit card, you have to order menu through online and choose pick up, and dine inside, and you can pay with your credit card then.

Looks like an authentic Singapore restaurant, saw many Singaporeans came to dine while we were eating there. Tried some interesting dishes - Hainanese Chicken Rice, Char Kway Teow (fried beef rice noodles) and Nasi Lemak. All tasted good. Loved the "'wok hei' element in the beef rice noodles, added a flavour of smokiness. The milk tea was way too sweet though. Ice Kacang wasn't my type, felt like biting a big chunk of ice. Food (quality, presentation) - 4/5 Drinks (quality, variety) - 3/5 Ambience (interior, cleanness) - 3/5 Service - 4/5 Value - 4/5

Food is good. Service is the worst I've experienced. After sitting, we waited a long time to be given menus and water. We watched 3 groups of people arrive after us and get waited on before us before we finally had to flag down the waiter so that we could get menus and water. It's not a large place and was not busy. The waiter wasn't oblivious to the fact we hadn't been waited on. It felt like he was intentionally ignoring us. Even the group next to us who arrived after us noticed something wasn't right. They saw that the waiter was not attending to our table, and even offered us their menus when they realized what was going on. After we ordered, we still did not receive water. We had to ask again for it. When the food arrived, there was no cutlery for eating or serving. We looked around, everyone else was given them without having to ask. We had to flag down another waiter and ask her for some. There were no apologies, in fact she seemed mildly annoyed at our request as if it was a strange one. During every step of the dining experience, we had to ask for the basic essentials. It really felt like our table was being singled out for some unwarranted poor service.

Pretty good Char Kway Teow, quick service and a nice spot for some delicious Southeast Asian fare.

My actual rating would be a 3.5/5 based on 3 dishes that I’ve eaten here: Nasi Lemak, Singapore Laksa and Hokkien MeeAs a Singaporean, I am very thankful for the presence of this restaurant to cater to my homesickness whenever I’m craving for food from home. It’s a huge pity that the GTA severely lacks sufficient Singaporean cuisine when we are known to have one of the best food in the world.I loved the spiced fishcakes served with the Nasi lemak, along with the crispy fried egg placed on top of the creamy rice. Although, serving just 2 pieces of Otak Otak seemed a bit lacklustre and disproportionate for the entire dish. At the same time, the sambal belacan that seemed to be more on the sweeter side was such a bummer that affected my other dishes too. Yes, there are some variations for sambal belacan to be on the sweeter side but as a spice lover, I like my sambal to be spicy. Apart from the sweetness, the sambal was served at a very small quantity which I believed to be the confusion by the staff that day who seemed to be newly hired. The Laksa had the coconut creaminess and generous portions of servings inside. I completely understand the difficulty in sourcing blood cockles here, hence I appreciate the shrimps that are served as a replacement. Although I enjoyed the Laksa, which is my all time comfort food from home, I believe the flavour of the “daun kesum” (Laksa leaves) could be stronger in the Laksa broth. For the Hokkien Mee, I was slightly disappointed as the broth seemed too watery and it lacked the thick prawn broth that I am used to from home. However, I completely understand that the type of prawn shells used back home is completely different to the shrimps that we get here, hence explaining the disparity in both of the broth types.A huge improvement would be the sambal to be served complimentary and be made spicier. Nevertheless, I am very thankful to the fellow Singaporean owners for running this establishment that allows me to reminisce home while savouring my favourite dishes. Food is a sacred part of our Singaporean culture and I look forward to trying more dishes by them, especially the chilli crab during crab seasons. If only I lived nearby them, this would have definitely been a regular spot for me.

The calamari was quite a generous portion. It was decent. Instead of squid rings, it was tentacles. It was not the freshest but it was nicely fried. It was medium battered.

Mee siam was OK. The broth wasn't very umami: tart without a balancing sweetness. The egg was overboiled. The shrimp was plump & flavourful.

Great great food. The bbq stingray, the Thai tamarind chicken and the Char Kwetiau are the must try dishes, taste like in Singapore Hawker Centre. The only cons of this place are this place are rarely open after the change of ownership few years ago. I don't think it is make sense that even if the they serve good food but every time you go they are close. Close on weekend, close most of the weekdays -
