Owl of Minerva is a popular Korean restaurant chain in Golden Square Centre. Despite the busy location, the quality of the food remains consistently good with other Owl of Minerva locations. Also, they are open late which is a bonus. The staff is nice and dinner time can get pretty busy! The menu offers a wide variety of delicious Korean staple dishes, including Japchae, LA Kalbi Ribs, Spicy Pork, and Blood Sausages. The quality of the food has remained consistent over the years (7 years ago). They have changed some staff but service is fairly standard with flagging employees for taking your order. They also accept credit cards and bring over the machine. They recently introduced fried chicken to their menu as well!During peak dinner hours, the restaurant can get quite busy, so it is advisable to ask for a number for your group. Parking in the plaza may require a bit of patience, but there are additional spots in the back to accommodate guests.Parking: This plaza is generally busy and parking spots can take a bit to find. Additionally, there are a lot of spots in the back and in other sides of the plaza.

-Bibimbab (sauce) lacked unique taste and had more bland spiciness?- sweet spicy fried chicken was bomb ?-tiny space for their busy business.-Usually Korean restaurants give room temperature tea. It is not so pleasant to drink icy cold water, especially in this cold weather.?? There were full of customers and long line of people outside of the place waiting for their turn.As a first time customer, we did not know that we have to get a written line queue number on a piece of paper, so was waiting outside for a while. But when it came almost our turn, we had no number. So after getting that number we were served waaay later because of that damn thing. If it is that busy place, at least put some note outside on your window, or get automatic machine system.

—-My this feedback is applicable for vegetarians——Very fast service and humble staff. I think this place is more for people who love non vegetarian. Only 1 to 2 vegetarian options and was good.I would recommend to visit this place if you’re non vegetarian. Only the place is bit congested too.

Went there on an early Monday evening for the pork bone soup which is what they are known for. It is not very busy on a snowy day with more than half of the restaurant empty. I have been to many locations and the food quality is very consistant. But this location has the worst service out of all of my Owl experience. The lady serving us looked very rushed all the time and very bothered when we asked for a refill of the side dishes. She also rushed us to pay when we just finished. I decided to pay with card and chose the default 18% tips option even when she did not provide any good service at all. Later when I looked at the receipt on the payment, the tips are calculated based on after tax price which is always wrong. It felt like a scam when restaurant do this especially when they know they shouldn’t get that much tips for the non existing service they provide. Buyers be aware and check closely on what they put on machine when you pay next time. If it is not for the good food I will rate this place 1 star.

The food was pretty good, but it’s too pricey compared to other Korean restaurants. The waiting time was long and there were only a couple of servers. The atmosphere is for casual settings.

We had the SoonDubu, spicy, seafood and tofu soup. It was nicely flavored and great for a chilly winter day. We also ordered the regular bulgogi, but felt there was not much meat for this dish. The taste was great, just not enough. We also ordered the Ddukbokgi, which was a very generous portion. Would have liked it spicier, but it was still delicious! We also ordered the fried chicken, which I forgot to order it as white meat only. Otherwise it has a great crispy texture and great taste. The restaurant is a bit small and cold near the windows. Service was good, but sometimes they were busy with takeout and orders that they couldn't see us waiting to give our order. OThe bangchan was great and we loved the kimchi, bean sprouts and cucumber and pickled radish. This is our 3rd time visiting and we will go again.

Came here on a chilly day with my mom because we were both craving tofu soup and pork bone soup. My mom ordered the pork bone soup and she enjoyed it. The pork was tender and falls right off the bone (which it should). I've been to the Markham location of this same chain and the pork was always little dry so thankfully this location does it much better! The soft tofu stew (soon dubu) was great! The flavour was nice and there was a good amount of tofu inside. This dish is perfect on a chilly day!Overall, this place is good and the location is great as well. It's conveniently beside a Btrust which then I can do my groceries after I eat!

Very impressed with the quality of Korean food at owl of Minerva. I had the steamed dumplings and soft tofu soup spicy and it was very good. The atmosphere could be a bit better but all in all fantastic place for Korean food. Will visit again.
