Tastes as good as it did when first opened about 40 years ago. The 2nd owners, who have been there for about 20 years, have kept everything the same as the original owner has.

Great local joint with great tasting food! The Donair, cheeseburger, and fries were all delicious. The salad was very fresh. Bonus: the owners are very lovely!

I used to work in the area and regularly order the donair with sweet sauce and fries which is really good. Prices are slightly steeper than the average place, but worth it in my opinion. After a long time, my family decided to order delivery last night and I was absolutely stunned how much we paid. We only ordered 2 donair w/fries, one single donair and one can of pop. Total was over $49 (before tip) and also included a delivery charge which they never charged previously or even disclosed upon ordering. Very disappointing.

Finally found a place that makes a hamburger that is just perfect. Right amount of everything without the nonsense of adding 100 toppings or just adding more next for the sake of it. .... Also the Donair was good I just enjoy the burger more

Great Halifax style donair, with proper sweet sauce. Have been going here for 30+ years. One on only two spots in Ottawa where you can get a proper donair.

I never realized that this place was a restaurant with actually seating! I had always thought it was one of those takeout only pizza (plus other foods) joints. I was quite surprised when I walked in and saw an old school eatery. The place looks very dated, but that's part of the charm, I think. The upholstery of the long bench along the wall has seen better days and could use a good steam cleaning, lol. The booths looked less grungy though ;) I got takeout and was perusing the menu when the lady pointed out to me their specials written on the chalkboard. I went with the #1 special which was a donair sandwich with fries and salad for $14.50. I had my choice of Caesar or garden salad and I chose the latter. For the donair you can get garlic sauce, sweet sauce or hot sauce. I went with sweet sauce. The donair sandwich was quite messy, but it was good. It was filled with donair meat that was flavourful and the right balance of crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. It also had lettuce, tomatoes and onions in it. A Halifax donair it was not, but the sweet sauce made it reminiscent of one. I actually quite enjoyed it. The pita was soft and fluffy. The garden salad came pre-dressed and had too much dressing for my liking. I will tell them easy on the dressing next time, or just get it on the side like I usually do, but forgot to request this time. The ingredients tasted fresh though. Although the main ingredient was iceberg lettuce, of which I am not a big fan. However, it also had tomatoes, cucumbers and green peppers, which I like. And the vinaigrette was mild, just a simple oil and vinegar combination, but it was good. The fries tasted like chip wagon fries and I enjoyed them. Service was friendly and efficient. I was really surprised by this unassuming place. It's in a strip mall and I have disregarded it for so long. I'm glad I decided to check it out. Lots of free parking in the plaza parking lot.

The food was good however the place is kinda old school. I recommend to make a take away instead

Unassuming place with old school eatery decor with good and messy donairs. Halifax donairs they are not, but if you get it with sweet sauce instead of garlic sauce, it is reminiscent of Halifax donairs, lol. Fries are chip wagon style. $14.50 for a donair sandwich, fries and a salad, and I was stuffed silly. Not a bad deal these days.

More fake east coast donairs that can't get it right. Donairs are a maritimes thing. Doner is the middle eastern thing. Donairs in every where else except the maritimes, is basically not far off to how the states make poutine. Even the "wE eAsT cOaSt" donair places make it wrong, the make the nasty squeeze bottle donair sauce. If it doesn't have the right sauce, it's not a donair.

Ahhh good old Romeo's. You should never judge a book by its cover, just as you shouldn't judge Romeo's by its simple atmosphere.I've been coming here for decades, an old faithful gem for me. I generally come here for donairs, club sandwhiches and French fries, so I cant speak for the rest of the menu.Their donairs are second to none, in fact I've yet to taste better anywhere. Their clubs are are great too, especially the French fries, which are made chip wagon style.
