I saw the average reviews and was worried when we picked this resto for a celebration. But the dimsum here is actually pretty amazing. I really enjoyed our food and so did the rest of the family. We tried the regular menu and it was good but the dimsum is a must try. I live really close so I will he coming back. I used to love going to Rosewood downtown but its too much of a trek now. Paradise is a great alternative! I plan to have many meals here in the coming years.

Food -- excellent. This review is based on Paradise's sneakiness.First off: your bill will include the tip added, no matter what size your party is. So Paradise makes a tip mandatory (I've always thought it was based on quality of service?) And they sneakily make the tip look like the tax (13%) so when you get your bill, you'll think you need to tip on top of that. Don't be fooled.Second: They charge for tap water. I know water costs restaurants money, but seriously? $1 for each person for tap water? It's not even filtered water, it's tap.Third: Service is only okay -- with mandatory tipping, I would expect at least good service. It's only minimal effort. Bring your food. Leave. Not even so much as asking if we need anything else.Four: back to the bill -- dim sum dishes are listed as S, M, L, or XL. With different pricing for each. Make sure you know what size you're ordering and calculate your total. The final bill does not have line-by-line charges, only the total. So you won't know if they "accidentally" charged you for two mediums when it should be two smalls. If you go in knowing all this, then you will enjoy the food (which really is good) and not be bothered by the sneakiness.

This is a really solid Chinese restaurant. Everything is flavourful and fresh. The yin yang rice is interesting as it seems to have some curry powder. The baked tapioca pudding is a must have.

Dim sum is no longer lower priced before 10:30am or anytime. If you pay cash, you do receive 10% off. They charge you for tea per person ( about $1.25) and also for water. They charge regardless of what age you are so if a 6 year old needs water, you'll be charged.13% gratuity is already added to the bill. I'm sure lots of people tip on top though as they don't refuse additional tipping. Perhaps 13% is selected because you might think it's tax and then tip some more.Dim sum itself is good. Tasty. But no longer a good value so many options are out there for the same or better price. We paid $95 cash for about 10 dim sum dishes.

Food and service both solid. Only callout is to review the bill carefully. Their bill is printed on a format that typical old school convenient stores do their receipts.. and it doesn't tell you anything other than rows of seemingly random numbers. The most recent time we went as a party of 2, and thought the bill total came up to be pretty high (we ordered 6 items). When asked about the bill, several staff members had to help decipher the bunch of numbers and we then found out they duplicated the subtotal, apparently due to a "mistake". They've also recently added auto great on all bills but it looks like the HST item as same %. Odd that they don't declare this upfront or at all.

More money hungry shark fin sellers zzz boycott this place. Disgusting people practicing something that's slowly killing the ocean. They need to be woken up don't go till they remove it from the menu. Buy a dish because the price is high and you get a status from it clowns. what a real chef thinks. Shark trust stop eating only the fins.

Dim sum quality is on par with other restaurants of the same upscale caliber, good. The service today is nothing short of lousy. We waited a long time for the first pot of tea. There were no smiles or pleasantries, just stoic, stone faced reception. Most dialogues involved one worded answers after a slight pause. Seems like management overlooked proper etiquette as part of the training.

First time to have dim sum here in a group of 7. Dish sizes are fair, and tables nicely spaced out. Service was ok but felt could be improved (didn’t quite like the attitude of one waiter). The dishes I like most include the marinated duck wings, steamed beef rice rolls and pan fried vegetable crepe and the sesame balls with sesame paste filling. Was a bit disappointed with the plain rice congee (watery) and the deep fried dough (so hard it seemed refried). Rest of the dishes were all ok and similar to others we frequented. It’s a bit on the pricey side given we already have 10% discount but taste good so I would come again.Note: they offer a few frozen dishes you can takeout and reheat at home which my friend said was quite good but I have not tried yet.

To cut a long story short, we had a young male waiter whose lack of interest and energy to serve had really made for the start of a terrible evening. Fortunately after we started to push back, a slightly older lady waitress took over and saved the day. Food was worth going back for and if I was the owner, I would definitely let the young man go and recognize the lady server appropriately.

Delish, generous portions for dim sum in a relaxing environment. This place never disappoints.Especially love: octopus tentacles, cha su Bao (bbq pork buns, steamed and baked), Har Gow, Siu Mai, scallop taro dumplings (feathery texture), and many more.*Discount for cash payment (often only at certain times)

Food was good, but they charged 13% service fee as tips. Server told me they don’t have diet coke but i found they have it on uber menu. Then i order one coke but is a really small glass bottle(i found out that small bottle of coke cost $5 when i got the bill).

Good dim sum and service. Discounted price before 11am. They also still check vaccine passports and wear masks which makes me feel more comfortable. Would highly recommend. 20% off cash discount. Also note that tip is already included in the bill.

I don’t get into the Leslie and Finch area very often, as I live about a 40 minute drive from there.. but today I was driving by and decided to go in and order their Yang Chow Fried rice for take out… it was going to be a 25 minute wait so I decided to order it anyway and come back and pick it up at 1pm… I have had it before and remembered it was very good. The lady taking my order was very pleasant….she told me if I paid cash I would get a 10% discount.. I came back with cash…it was $20.60 for one medium size order of rice! I was flabbergasted. I sat in my car and enjoyed some for my lunch before I hit the 404. I was going to have some with my dinner but at the last minute I found a hair in it…OMG! Knowing I had already ate some earlier made the whole experience rather disgusting. Never again and such a outrageous price for a rice dish! Needless to say..it ended up in the garbage.

Paradise Fine Chinese Dining? I think not! My family was in the mood for some dim sum, so we gave this establishment a call to order some take out. To find out that it was $10 a plate for each dim sum dish was ridiculous but we ordered anyways because we figured it would be some "Fine Chinese" food, and dim sum was very necessary at the time. The woman who took the order over the phone said if we pay cash we get 10% off. Once we pick up the order and pay cash, we notice that the 10% was not applied. We asked about it and the response we got was there was no 10% off at this time. WHAT?!? I'm thinking in my head, then why would you state that over the phone!?! We didn't try to argue with them because it wasn't worth the headache. Once we opened up the food we noticed hair in one of the dishes. We took it back to them and with the biggest eye roll and huge lack of customer service they took it back reluctantly and replaced it with attitude, as if we were in the wrong because their staff doesn't like to wear hairnets in the kitchen. With this terrible experience, I would never in a million years recommend this place to anyone. JimStar out!!
