We got the crab legs with corn and potato and a calamari shareable plate. The calamari was rubbery and unedible. The corn wasn’t cooked. The potatoes seemed old and the crab legs were extremely small portions. I’m very familiar with the Markham and Woodbridge location and I was very disappointed with York Mills locations service. The server barely spoke English, and couldn’t understand our complaint. It also seemed like the entire family worked here along with children, running free. Also, not once during the service did they offer to refill our water.

I visited Captain's Boil at their York Mills location yesterday around 3:45 pm, hoping to enjoy one of their advertised plates available until 5pm.Unfortunately, upon requesting this dish, I was informed it wasn't available. I chose another option, only to be told that wasn't available either. When I inquired further, the waiter explained they had everything available but couldn't serve certain plates at the listed price because the restaurant was supposedly losing money.Initially understanding, I sought alternatives, but each of the suggested options by the waitwr came with a $10-$15 price increase from the listed price on their menu! This experience left me deeply concerned about the restaurant's management. The server appeared apprehensive, hinting at pressure from the manager to prioritize profits over customer satisfaction.Overall, my visit was marred by poor communication, unavailability of advertised items, and a clear disregard for customer experience. I feel so sorry for all the employees of this location as their manager seems to be terrible.TCB’s franchising should really look into Captain's Boil at York Mills needs to address these issues promptly to maintain customer trust and loyalty.

This place is absolutely filthy! Ran down and unkempt. Seat fabric is soiled with all kind of stains. The floor is greasy and nasty. There were pieces of crab shells on the windowsill.Prices are outrageous! The waiters are not aware of what kind of fish is served in "fish and chips" and it's the seafood restaurant!!!You can't pick sides here either (only those that are listed under certain meal selection offers).I do not recommend this place mainly because of the poor hygiene and uncleanness.

Disclaimer: this place is NOT a captain’s boil restaurant!!I decided to finally visit this location because it’s nearby. I ordered the sailors feast with shrimp, captains boil sauce fire with cajun fries.First off, the captains boil sauce is NOT the original captain’s boil sauce. They made up their own sauce which was creamy/milk with a lot of five spices and possibly shaoxing wine! I’ve been to 3 other CB and they all had the same tasting sauce but this place is NOT which was very disappointing. Have I know that, I would’ve saved paying the $3 additional extra sauce fee. Second, the fried rice portion was ridiculously small about 4 tablespoons like literally! But at least the rice tasted like original CB! Third, the portion of the Cajun fries was a joke!To all CB lovers, I suggest to save your time and go to the other CB locations as this one is not worth it. I wonder if the positive ratings are even real!BEWARE SAVE YOUR MONEY!

Been here many times but the last few times the quality has gone down a bit. For instance the seafood fried rice used to come with a good amount of shrimp and scallops, after ordering the last 2 times, your lucky if you get any scallops or shrimp. Might as well just call if plain fried rice.Also they used to have lotus root, now it is no longer on their menu.Lastly the Captain's boil sauce is what makes this place addictive! As long as their sauces don't change regardless of plain fried rice or now, I'll still be coming back!

Had heard a lot captains boil so we decided to go before my flight back home…and the nearest one was York mill . As it was my first time there…the food was fabulous…finger licking good compared to the prices..but to talk about the service…the server with the glasses..came with her mouth full of food which was extremely unprofessional and rude..I felt quite awkward and disappointing as captain boil is one of the famous restaurants..this behavior was not expected..anyways the food which I ordered made those sour moments to happy ones..?
