Have lived near this establishment for many years but have only recently started making it a routine to pick up lunch. I get the lunch special #1 (6 California, 6 spicy salmon, miso soup, small side salad) and it is super tasty for a fair price ($13). Recommend.

I have now eaten at Niwa 5-6 times including take-a-way lunch and just recently a sit-down (Large platter sashimi/sushi/maki combo served on a large wooden boat). Great flavor ! great presentation.... for those looking for quality over an all-u-can-eat, this is the place to go to. Support a small restaurant !

Niwa sushi serves very fresh and delicious and authentic Japanese food. The presentation is beautiful and delicate and the service is very friendly and efficient. I have only had great experiences at Niwa Sushi except for once on New Year's eve 2020 and it was not really Niwa Sushi's fault. They were overwhelmed and inundated with orders for New Years eve and there was a long queue out the front of the restaurant. Many people had pre-ordered and were quite upset and frustrated about the long wait: however, almost everyone kept calm and patient. Everyone except the two Oakville entitled privileged men waiting behind me. All they could do was complain and complain and complain and basically try to push their negativity on to the people in the queue. I must say, I was very proud of everyone in the queue who mostly ignored them and kept patient, upbeat and understanding. I want to thank those two Oakville entitled privileged men for giving me my new year's resolution. My resolution is to be kind, understanding and compassionate and not to ever be entitled, privileged and negative.

Have been going frequently for the past 4 years and it continues with fresh and tasty food. Service is always great and friendly. Since the lockdown, we have ordered take-outs and they are keeping up with quality.

A favourite restaurant of mine for many years. It's a smallish casual restaurant but if you're lucky, you will get a booth which is nice and private. The value and the service are both excellent and the food is always fresh and delicious (terrific lunch specials)! Also a favourite take-away! The only reason I did not give it a 5 rating is the location and layout of the restaurant. Food definitely a 5.

I hadn’t been hear in a about year, but this last visit isn’t even close to the standards which other sushi restaurants are at in Oakville and the GTA. I found the quality had declined significantly and the atmosphere was cheap looking and seemed to be unclean. I will not be going back.

This restaurant has excellent sushi. The fish is so fresh and very high quality. The ratio of fish to rice is perfect. I've been eating there since it opened and their quality and great service have been consistent since day 1. Our "go to" meal for two is the medium Sushi Moriawase which is a 30 piece assortment of sushi and maki, a small salad and miso soup. I find the value for the money very good at $30 for two (+ tax and tip). I'm thankful they opened so close to home so I can get a good sushi fix whenever I need one!

Good, fresh food with very friendly service. Waiteress didn't speak English very well but was very nice. Not the best sushi place in Toronto, but definately the best in Oakville.

Very friendly service and reasonable prices. The lunch specials make a great quick lunch. This place is my new choice for a convenient takeout meal.

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! so i've read all these great reviews and i decided to go one day by myself at lunch to bench the quality and quantity of the food before i recommend it to my colleagues since we were trying to find a GOOD japanese retaurant close to our work. anyway, i left STARVING and had to buy a sub cause i was so hungry. don't get me wrong, the food was decent, the service was excellent, but when my food came, i thought it was an hors d'oeuvres, i ordered a sashimi and sushi combo and the thickness of the fish was no more than 5mm for BOTH and i'm not even exaggerating. $17 (including tax and tip) is not worth it at all.. i know it's supposed to be lunch portion but i have never seen it so small in any jap restaurant in any country! i'm hoping someone would tell me the dinner portinos are completely different cause i was really wishful of this place being the one!

I am not kidding. This is the first time I hear Japanese spoken among the staff at a Japanese restaurant. The others I have been to, spoke mainly Cantonese and Mandarin. That heightened my expectation. And they did not disappoint. The service was ernest, the food was great. The taste of the sushi was comparable to what you can get in Japan. No, even better than those served in big hotel restaurants in Japan. They should move out of the inconspicuous location. Their food deserves better.

Great little restaurant! The sushi is some of the best i've ever had, the service is good and the value amazing, especially the daily lunch specials.

One of the best sushi restaurants I have ever been to.
