If you’re looking for old school traditional fish and chips, this is a good place for them. It’s a local favourite spot. Stepping into this place took me back to the 70’s with its decor. Kitchen is old but clean and visible from the take out area.We did take out around 4:30 so the place was empty.Service is quick. Food is good. Not overly greasy. The fish was perfectly done with a light batter (not gluten free). It’s important to note that they do try to ensure a safe dining environment for those with shellfish allergies. Make sure you tell the cook if you have allergies.

Found this place by accident, decided to try it. Dinner hour on a Sunday. Service was good. Fish was very tasty and a very sizeable portion. Chips were done right. All four in our party we pleased.

Dave is friendly and service was quick. The popcorn shrimp were very tasty. The clam chowder was disappointing as there was no evidence of clams and more like a cream and potato soup. Fish and chips was good. Generous portion of fish with a mound of chips.

Service - discombobulatedFood - overcooked - fish was greasy, batter was over cooked and hard as a rock and the fish was hard and dry. Fries were over cooked. Horrible.Hard to believe fish and chips could be horrible. Threw it all out and ordered pizza. Never again

Worst fish I've ever had. Wish there was anything lesser than a one star, they don't even deserve that. I ordered it to be delivered and they had only packed one measly shrimp with my order...stingy much?Definitely a thumbs down!!Dietary restrictions: Make sure there's no alcohol in cooking and preparing of your food...there's such a thing as halal food and you guys don't meet the requirements.

We ordered two battered halibut and chips and one breaded halibut and mushy peas. Both the battered halibuts were tough and chips were OK. The breaded halibut was fine as were the mushy peas (maybe a little too mushy).

Worst worst worst of everything .Halibut was greasy overcooked , dark brown and all batter . Tasteless .Mushy peas were dry and microwaved in front of me from the fridge . Took several pics including a hair that was attached to the fish?. Ordered and paid $42 and said I would be back in 20 mins for pick up . Went back 22 mins later and it was not ready . Not packed nor bagged - fish and fries were then put in box , then while they got cold the cook proceeds to then microwave the peas and put the cole slaw in the cup. Oh and then rang me up again but this time at $62 for the same items . Told him I already paid and he said he forgot . I won’t be back

English Bay cancelled the order and did not respond to the coordinator for the Food Delivery Service. No explanation provided. Service, Communications and Logistics Fail There are lots of fish (and chips shops) in the sea. Lesson learned, will fish elsewhere.

I love this restaurant so much!!! I came here the other day for a sunday night and it was excellent. The food is spectacular and the people are great. i totally recommend and will be returning.
Would recommendVery personable staff, friendly and courteous. I can’t wait to come back and try the other options. Fish cakes were very good, trust me I’ve eaten a lot of these in lots of places.

Haven't been back since the start of the pandemic. Ordered takeout for a late lunch - Halibut (with sweet potato fries), Haddock (regular chips) and fried shrimp. Everything was delicious. Dave made us feel welcome. We would highly recommend this place. Glad they are still in business.
