Absolute worst service. I preordered and paid for 4pm and didn’t get my orders until 5:45. Didn’t even start my order until I got there and the food wasn’t even worth it

I realize it is Good Friday and likely your busiest day of the year but dinner was not good. Even though it was preordered, we waited almost 90 mins past arranged time. Walk-ins were being served as quickly as those who preordered! The onion rings were huge dark rings of very dark batter (old oil?) and we could not taste onion. The fish also had too much batter. Leftovers have been tossed. ?

Not impressed at all. We normally get our fish and chips Here for Good Friday. We called a day ahead to place an order for pickup. My husband called first and got a Rude lady. I called back and the lady said hello, I asked if this was townline fish and chips as it was not addressed when she first answered. Her response was " ya sure" my response was I'll take my business elsewhere if this is how you speak to people when they call for business. So not impressed. I understand it's a busy time but at least be professional. We placed an order elsewhere.

Paid 24$ for two bacon poutine very tiny and barely any cheese on it. The fries were very oily and had some sort of spice taste in it did not like it at all. The staff was incredibly rude would not help other customers, people waited over an hour and a half for their order to be taken. Staff tried to refuse a customer refund and staff was also verbally harassing a new staff member. And one staff was laughing at angry customers and new staff overall not a great service and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone I won’t be going back ever again. Also with other reviews I’ve heard the owner is very rude as well and overall if you’re looking for somewhere to eat go anywhere else in Orangeville as this restaurant will screw you over.

I rarely leave reviews. Something has to be incredibly bad or incredibly fantastic for me to bother. This merits a review.Been our favorite fish and chips for years. Things have taken a drastic decline. Thin tiny piece of fish - taste is lost in the grease and batter.... Over-cooked due to thinness. Bones in mine. Was the WORST fish and chips ever. We live 5 hours away and talked about this trip down to Townline for days in anticipation. The fries were tough, like a different grease being used. The coleslaw was AMAZING which was great, as the only edible part of meal. Lovely young man serving. Lesson learned. We won't return. I guess we should have looked at reviews first but we went by it's prior reputation, and our fantastic past experiences. I see now reviews with the same skinny, over-cooked-due-to-tiny-size reviews. And worse then that, the argumentative replies ?. A response is unnecessary. It is what it is. When you change the product, that's your prerogative for sure but if it's a lesser quality, it's going to reflect in the reviews. We paid and didn't request a refund or discount - we ordered it and always pay for what we order. It's just an experience we will not repeat. The reason for reviews is for owners to help improve service, not for arguing.

Most disappointing looking fish I’ve ever seen. There was no batter on the haddock and the fries were flaccid- tasted like they were from the bottom of a deep freezer. There was no coleslaw or tartar sauce available. Very disappointing to say the least. I will not be coming back.

Firstly I ordered ahead of time was told there would be a 15-20 minute wait for my food, and when I get there my order is retaken again and I have to wait essentially an extra 20 minutes for the food to be cooked fresh as if I didn’t ordered ahead of time when I asked she said she wanted it to be fresh??? Isn’t this why you order ahead?? Wish I could leave a one star review went here and was sad to see the original staff / family was gone instead it looks empty and run by a single middle aged women (talk about fish understaffed) not only thing I didn’t see her wash her hands as she was preparing the food and going back and forth from the kitchen to the back. Now let’s get into the fish this is definitely not halibut fish it more looked like 3 cod frozen pieces of fish that were cooked together. The fish comes directly out of the freezer and has a freezer burnt taste as well, the fish is throw into the dirty oil with the servers bare hands and it’s so thin and crispy definitely not halibut! I went back to ask for a refund as I spend over $65 and was turned away and when I said the food was not how it used to be I was told that there’s was nothing that could be down so now I’m hungry, $65 short and will never be returning. And if I do not receive a refund I will take this to the small court claims where they can watch the camera footage and see it all unfold for themselves me going refused a refund and not getting any food at all! THIS IS NOT HOMEMADE SEEN WITH MY OWN EYES!!

So many things l could say here, starting with trying to charge us $18.00 for sweet potato fries and then another $12.00 for 3 chicken fingers but l wont go on. However, l will say, the fish and chips were good.

Since the ownership changed...Sleepy service, poor food quality, and when we asked why it was like this they stated that their kitchen was backed up, yet the restaurant was damn empty, stop wasting time & money's.

I moved away and after 5 years of craving real fish and chips (townline) I was drastically disappointed. The portions half been cut by more than half we could order 2 fish 1 chips and chips would last for three days. Today ordered 3 fish and two chips. Fish was half what it used to be and chips barely made it around. No one at the table was happy with our meal. (Overcooked due to size of portion and lack of batter) A lady actually came in to order and looked at the portions being served and walked out without ordering. Hate to say it but yet another good restraunt sold only to go down the toilet and I would bet money on it that it will end up closing down, unless things change to back to what they used to be. I do not recommend wasting your money here. Sorry but only speaking the truth. As for the owners response . I know you recently have taken over and my mother and son who have always Raved about the food there say they won't ever eat there. Again.Your response was rude and unprofessional. Perhaps a lesson In etiquette is due.. something has happened with businesses in Canada. The customer was always right. But for some reason many business owners now choose to treat unhappy customers with disrespect, instead of being apologetic and trying to correct the problems. My statement stands!!

Townline Fish and Chips has definitely changed. The portion is absolutely tiny, 3 pieces of halibut with chips came to $62. Not worth it at all! The owner also does not give refunds for his tiny pieces of fish. Speaking with the owner was a terrible experience, as well. He does not seem to be very truthful with how things are done there and the justification for his tiny pieces of fish. Will not ever return. Very disappointing. In response to the owner, the three pieces were not free. I still did not receive a refund and the owner demanded the original three pieces back before cooking a new set of fish, which is still not edible. What is even more cringy, is he asked my husband his name and demanded a good review because he remade the order! The owner is a very dishonest person. These pictures are from the first set of fish and the second set of fish. My review is only to help consumers spend their money at establishments where they will get what they pay for. Townline Fish and Chips is definitely under new management and that is very unfortunate. Please stop the lies, my food was never free. Why would you serve those tiny pieces of fish to begin with, anyway. Even the second set (which are pictured) have clearly been cut in half to save you cost. You are blatantly lying and trying to rip people off. What I was served should have never cost $62 or should even be served at a restaurant. Shame on you.
