If I could give this place a thousand stars I absolutely would without second guessing! I have not been to any other place since my family found this GEM! The family who runs this are wonderful! Fresh, hot, massive portions of food! The taste is like no other! We always order the fish, fries and gravy with coleslaw. My mouth waters thinking about this place! There’s never any left overs in this household! I’d always recommend this place to everyone that’s looking for that delicious batter fish dinner! This is an absolute GEM that needs to be fully recognized by everyone within Durham/travelling through! They will never disappoint! Now go place ur order!!!!

wanted to try this mom and pop shop as there are not many around now a days. went in the place was busy which was a great sign. ordered 1 halibut and chips for take out. price was understandable. came time to pay and to my surprise they didn't even accept any form of payment except for cash.server was rude as ever and said if i wanted the food i had to use their own atm to pay for it. i started laughing and said where is the bank i will go there instead of paying the ridiously fees of the atm. i asked them why isn't it stated anywhere that they are cash only. they just smirked and said they don't have to let anyone know. i again said you know what forget it and left the food there and advised that i would never come back, i'm sure the food would have been fantastic, but the lack of customer service just ruined the entire night for me. I would have not had a problem if they just stated from the start it is cash only but to wait till the end is just a waste of food and customers time.

We both had the Halibut and chips and they were really good. I didn’t care for the coleslaw but I am picky about my coleslaw. The dining area is outdated but fine. Friendly, fast service. Didn’t use the restroom so can’t comment on that. Overall a good dinner.

OMG... we ordered fish and chips for takeout tonight from here and I am INCREDIBLY happy with our order. Not only was the staff so friendly but everything was amazing. From the fish, the chips and even the gravy. Usually we aren't very satisfied with how greasy the fish is, how bad the fries are or how salty the gravy is but at this place... THEY HAVE IT ALL!! I would highly recommend this place for your fish and chip cravings. And don't forget the gravy. Wow!

in comparison to a chain restaurants in oshawa this place has them beat . the portions are hardy and this is why I love family ran business. they know what their customers want!
