Must try: The steak and pepper. The steak is grilled to perfection and layered over the flavoured rice. It was perfect.North Oshawa has quite a few Caribbean restaurants. But to call something as East African Fusion and pull it off successfully, one would need amazing food. And this place has that!

I would have given minus starts, this is what we got for Steak and Peppers. Ordered 4 of them and it's the worst East African food we have tasted. Food tasted very blank, looks like beef was just boiled and tossed with peppers and onions. Atleast they can serve some decent food for the money they charge you. Please keep away from this place. Tried it based on google review and wondering if these reviews are legitimate.

I love African food. This place cooks the most savoury, the most freshest food. The owner is very kind and friendly. The food, again, out of this world. And the service is just as amazing. More people need to come here!

Simply Exceptional. I tried the lunch special which is delicious. I love the tamarind and date sauce which is both salty and spicy. I also love how fresh the chipathi wrap is, alongside the fresh vegetables which are great. The owner is extremely friendly and hospitality is on point. Highly recommend this restaurant, I'll continue to be a regular visitor in the near future.

I love the food at Safari Secrets and crave it often! The beef chapati wrap and beef samosas are my favourite things on the menu, sooooooo yummy ? the staff are incredibly kind as well. They forgot an item in my order once and when I drove back to get it, they had already realized the mistake and had the food ready for me, and even gave me some extra items as an apology. They are a hidden gem, you should definitely try them out!

THE BEST AFRICAN RESTAURANT IN DURHAM REGION. I've personally never been big on trying food from other parts of the world but what we have here in North Oshawa is an absolute gem! mouth-watering food prepared with TLC and that homemade mango juice...don't even get me started. It's your grave loss if you drive past this place hungry.

The best place for East African food in Durham. We got the kingfish, chicken and Steak & pepper. All meal plates came with salad or soup and a mango juice. Absolutely delicious food. The quantity is very fair and the prices are very reasonable. Will surely be back to try other things on the menu.

Food was excellent. I wasn't sure of what to expect but love trying new food. Casual sit down. Prices were good. We split the beef and flaffel wrap and chips, will return for a feature dish.

My husband and I got takeout from here and overall we enjoyed it, but I found the wrap too greasy for my tastes. Safari Secrets serves East African cuisine. We got takeout. I got the Steak and Pepper ($12.95), which was steak, stir-fried with bell peppers, tomatoes and onions, served over rice, with a side salad and mango juice. My husband got the Beef Chapati Wrap ($7.99) which came with a mango juice too. My steak was so well seasoned. It had a slight spicy kick to it, which I enjoyed. The rice was soft and fluffy. The salad was basic with just iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and onions, but ingredients were fresh. My meal came with ranch dressing for the salad and a green citrusy hot sauce which I loved. It was a bit sour, but spicy and was really unique tasting to me. The mango juice was sweet and a bit thick, which I liked. I had a taste of my husband's wrap and it was ok. The chapati was too greasy for me. The wrap had steak, lettuce, tomatoes and a white sauce. I definitely enjoyed what I ordered better, lol. Also, I noticed they pressed the wrap in a way that one side had all the vegetables and the other side had the all meat. Had they pressed it the other way, each bite would have had both meat and vegetables, which I feel would have been better. Service was quick and courteous. Our food was ready in 10 minutes. It's in a strip mall, next to a Giant Tiger store. Lots of free parking.
