Great service and decent ambience. In terms of food, my mom and I enjoyed our brunch here (French toast and eggs benedict). The home fries that came with the eggs benedict were so good! However, my dad ordered the Ploughman’s breakfast and wasn’t the biggest fan.Overall, I recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a casual brunch spot in/near the Byward market. I am also curious to try items from their dinner menu in the future.
My wife, daughter and I treated my brother -in-law and his wife to an excellent meal here. I had the potato salad to start, which really benefited from a splash of vinegar and a lot of dill, and then most of us had the pickerel, which was superb. Highly recommended.

Das lokal is a hidden gem in my opinion because I no idea how popular it actually is because I've only ever been there in the off hours! BUT that being said it's one of the few places that still has a food service menu in their in between lunch/dinner hours (granted it's limited but still!!). Great menu, great drinks, great vibe. Love it!
