Really good Jamaican food given the lack of quality options in Ottawa. Hours can be spotty. And another reviewer is right - only go between 1-2:30pm otherwise it could be busy and they’ll have run out of some items.

Growing up in Scarborough ON I was spoiled for choice when it came to Jamaican (and Trini, and Guyanese...) food. Since moving to Ottawa however I have not found a spot that delivered the flavour hit I was craving...until today, that is. Got the oxtail, which was succulent, fall-off-the-bone and served over a bed of rice and peas with mixed veg, and a chicken pattie that had the best crust I've had on ANY pastry in a while. Bonus: the owner/chef is a super-nice guy. I will be back again very soon for sure.

Chef Midnight brings the flava, haven't had this good island food take out since Toronto. The real deal!
First, coming from Toronto used to plenty of Caribbean restaurants so now being in Ottawa was looking for a new spot for us to go. Second, the food…. Patties were proper so well start with a positive great Pattie’s! The jerk chicken was average, wouldn’t say it was anything I’d crave but it wasn’t bad! The steam Veg was great too. Now the Mac and cheese literally tasted spoiled, and the curry goat was soft and tender but no curry flavour at all. I wouldn’t recommend this place and I wouldn’t go back, but more so because I don’t want to waste my money on food that really isn’t good.

I tried an Oxtail but the taste was very bland, there isn't any flavor in the meat. The worst thing was rice, it was so hard couldn't even eat. Gave up eating after a few seconds, disappointing.

We got a medium jerk chicken and a small goat! The chicken was amazing! Such good Smokey flavours! The texture of the meat was great too! It came with rice and veggies which made for a great meal! I want to go back and try the oxtail and fish! We took it to eat at Britannia beach nearby!
